Time travel stories in a nutshell. =^-^=

Temporal mechanics makes my head hurt.

They're always there to ruin your day... Unless if it's a predestination paradox. Especially if it is one.

One thing I wish Cryptic would do is give the KDF and Romulan Republic AOY characters. They are missing a golden storytelling opportunity to tell stories of what was happening in those empires during the 23rd century especially with those interesting Romulan designs. Of course they'd rather take direction from CBS right now.

Yeah, CBS was always kinda important in their storytelling.

But I wonder now that Picard has changed some details about the world Cryptic is presenting, what might happen next. Either Cryptic alters the road to 2409, to reflect the canon development from Picard, or they consider themself as not prime (and canon) reality anymore and stay on their path, which might give them more creative freedom (including telling stories about the past of those empires), but on the other hand would upset fans that treated STO as kind of the canon future that CBS refused to give them for nearly two decades. Hm... Time will tell, I guess...

I think they are working with CBS. We know some things from STO are now canon like the Odyssey class and, it would seem, the Avenger class. It seemed a full sleet of Avengers rode in with Riker. I'd argue the Vastam class is also canon. I think I saw some in the Romulan fleet. Maybe a predecessor of the Vastam class. They wouldn't be getting tier 6 ships at that time. Maybe we'll see some of the Road to 2409 in Picard like the rise of J'Mpok, Taris, and Sela. We know the Tal Shiar are already fucking around with Borg tech. Maybe Hakeev will make an appearance. Would be nice to see him in a role that's more than just a stereotypical villain. I would love to see what led Taris to believe the Iconians could change history.

I also wouldn't mind seeing more civilian ships in Star Trek Online. We don't actually see much civilian shipping. Some of them could be made available for Fed, KDF, and Rom characters via either the C-store or regular progression, too. It would be fun having a Q-ship straight out of Star Trek: Starfleet Command. We also need to see more minor power ships going about their business in sector space. Like you get close to New Kentar you start seeing Kentari patrols.
