Also a lot of modern cars have a key slot to disable the passenger airbags. I don't like airbags so I tend to stick with older cars or I would unplug them.

I just don't like them and I've seen people hurt when they go off. Also if you're holding the wheel when one fires it can easily break your thumbs and the powder that comes off can burn you. If you're too close to the wheel due to size or you're leaning forward looking for a space and the airbag fires it's like being punched by a heavy weight boxer and can kill. I really hate them and seatbelts are just fine and have saved more lives. At lower speeds a seat belt is much safer and better for kids. I always thought the law was if your car is fitted with seat belts you have to wear them but if your car doesn't have them due to age you don't have to fit them.
