Open species so others can create their own bestie characters. Some artists put the species they create as "closed" so no one can make their own version.

well sometimes folks make species(designs ) open such as sergal or uhh angel dragon they make one according to your lore but some might make one off your awesome idea but always credit you for the design.

Looks vaguely mammalian, but the gill-things on the sides of the neck and the tail make me think it's amphibious - moving between land and water regularly.

Part of me wonders if the toes have webbing between them.

Interesting insight. I think they're 80% reptile 20% mammal. The gills are sensory organs instead of breathing ones.
