I am a US resident and this reform is a very risky move....
not only that, it scares the hell out of me, because it wont be long until I go out into the world..... and now I have to pay outrageous amounts of money for healthcare that I probably dont need at that age, AND if I cant pay for it, they 'FINE' me?!? theres going to be a LOOOOOOOOT of fines.... and a lot of them will go unpaid, to be honest..... if a person cant afford to pay for the health care, what the hell makes them think they will be able to pay a freaking fine!? and after the fine? what, do they get fined again for not being able to pay for the health care?
DAMN IT its forcing us to PAY for something, if we want it or not.

Aha like that.
Well believe it or note, but we're forced to be insured here as well. Only they wrap it as 'taxes' so we don't get suspicious.
However, if we're not ensured, healthcare is even more pricey.
I think what most people don't realise is that stuff can happen at all times, even if you stay at home. It's not that you pay for a direct use of services and suches, you pay in advance to be able to get helped without taking out a mortgage for healthcare.
You're saying now that you don't want / need it. But as soon as shit goes bad and you're in the hospital without insurance, you'll be happy you got it (it means you don't have a 36'000$ heart surgery bill from the hospital. Well our newsteam followed a woman in the USA with 3 kids that had to move to her parents basement because of her heartsurgery, wich was 36'000$. I know that she is happy her kids are insured now.)
In Europe we've been doing it for decennia, noone seems to be poor here because of healthcare. Hell, people are more healthy in general if I may be so free.
