Needed a little distraction from work. It was fun, these guys are more balanced than I was expecting, except for Porter, who, as I expected, is pretty much perfect.

I'd say that most fans of the comic are attracted to Grant's body type, and of course being fans they're not inclined to acknowledge Grant's faults. I think if you ever ran a "Am I Hot?" poll for Grant to the general public most people would find him ugly. Also revisit Captaingerbear's works of "present day" Grant - he certainly doesn't strike me as being very friendly at all.
Well, personally i acknowledge Grant's faults, and i know there are many. And you know.. i like them ^^
And i've seen present Grant, and still, i know he is meant to be ugly, and with lots of issues, but still like him a lot (yeah yeah i might have my own issues :P).
So, i know the chart is fine, is meant to be like this, but, i wanted to express my own opinion saying i like him never the less ^^
Thanks for the reply btw ^^

grant was depressed after losing randy(?) and afterward started looking like that and started to get meaner and scarier, which i think the people were steretyping him or something. i probably bawled my eyes out if someone beloved to me dies and go into a short term depression. but grant didn't have anyone to kiss so he was hungry most of the time and couldn't think straight which right until bent saved him and took him into his house the hunger left and the shadow under his eyes left. i pretty much am obsessed with grant and sorry for this comment i just seen the grant comic and loved it mainly because of grant.
I have to agree with Furiurse here.
Even if its meant NOT to be attractive, to some of us, he still is. I know, i know.. the chart is fine, and it should be like that, but just saying Grant has the thing for some of us ^^
Btw, thanks for creating Grant and looking forward for the next page on the comic ^^
Take care ^^

Captaingerbear - I know you love memes but just out of curiosity do you ever do any actual drawing memes? I've seen you tagged in several drawing memes before but you always seem to go for the ones that don't involve much artwork if at all. To my knowledge the only one you've done was that "Kirby ate my character and stole his powers!" thing from a while ago. I'm not saying there's anything bad about any meme preferences you might have, I'm just curious.
I am so glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. There's always inevitably a "will you kindly draw my character in your style?" - it's so obvious that panel is the entire reason behind the meme. Shameless, really . . . but anyway you probably won't do this meme but I've always wanted to see Grant as a skinhead. Hee!

Sorry, ment to write "Is this implying that having AN IMBALANCE of negative and good traits automatically means a bad character?"
That's what I'm disagreeing with. Some great villians don't have a decent thing about them (the Joker in "The Dark Knight", Iago, HAL 9000, etc) while some heros don't have any negative things I can think of (Superman).
I do agree that there is nothing more annoying than a villian that's bad for no reason or a hero that makes the Buddha look like Stalin, so some balance is required. I just don't think it's the be all end all.

Could this be a challenge to perhaps some day take up? See if a character who lets his cowardice take over can then make up for it. I don't draw much nowadays, but I've been working a bit on my writing instead, and the main story I've been going at for a few years now deals with a few of what I'd say are my own shortcomings in real life. Our own issues are always the best material because we know them so well.
On the other hand, I can see why you wouldn't put a trait you personally dislike into your work. I cannot stand vacuous people, so when I needed such a character for my story, I just did what I had to and moved on. It was barely two or three paragraphs.
