Don't mind the ridiculous picture xD. So I was playing with my midi to 8 bit converter and I found this brass arrangement of Bach's fugue in D minor (sorry, no tocatta) and it sounded just awesome in 8 bit. Added a pinch of reverb to make it sound a little better. Note though that I'm not the original creator of the midi, the arranger is unknown. Just thought you guys would enjoy it ^^
Oh and, speaking of unknown creators, I read an interesting piece on how the tocatta and fugue in D minor probably wasn't composed by Bach at all. It's totally out of his style, among other things. Interesting...
Also check out this bit of the Verdi Requiem: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4066564/

J.S. Bach was the great technician of the Baroque style. Not so much contributing to the Baroque as developing it and evolving it. I esp. dig the Brandenburg Concertos (those pieces for Concertro Grosso that almost never saw the light of day) and the Well-Tempered Clavier.
Source on the story that Back didn't do the T&F..?

I do love Bach, but the evidence does seem pretty convincing http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05303/597490.stm
Okay, yeah.
That the T&F wasn't originally meant for the organ is old news, although the article's assertion that the piece would've been entitled in Latin for "Bach's generation" surprises me.
Bach was indeed a transcriber. A lot of his composing skills comes from his career as a sort of musical bureaucrat, working for churches and choirs and noblemen in asomewhat clerical capacity.

-) Oh I know, it's fun to do that kinda stuff ^^ Nintendo-core is pretty cool; but I dunno, I'm just iffy about what songs are done like that.
-) I've never been able to make one that is satisfying though; but I would like to do one for Hall of the King. And then call it, Hall of The Mountain Dew.
