A little something for my fellow Fur Affinity members =) Actually, I wanted to upload this earlier before we go to the airport for our en route to Sabah, but I can't on that time... x_x So, believe it or not, I'm submitting this from the airport as we speak. XD
Unlike my recent songs, I decided to keep this song available for free. Yay, party! XDDD
I'm not used to writing this sort of song before, being overly monotonous and all; I'm more used to writing songs with melodies, not like this. Although I've set the genre to "goa", I'd like to seek help from y'all a bit. What genre can this song be properly classified in? I admit, I'm not fond of overly-monotonous music like this. Some people might like this sort, though...
Enjoy the beats. =P
Update: I realized that the original MP3 file has the text "Incomplete mix, for preview purposes only." embedded in the comments section of the ID3 tag. This song is complete; it's not a preview, you're hearing the completed work. I forgot to remove that earlier, sorry. XD It's fixed now.

Counting both of your replies as one... Thanks. =) I'd shit rainbows, too, whenever I come up with new musical ideas. XD
I agree, too. This is definitely trance music, but not in the style of trance most of us are used to. Ironically, this is what oldskool trance purists would insist on calling "real" trance music: highly monotonous, with little to no melody, back during the acid trance days. While claiming that the more popular form of trance music today as popularized by Paul van Dyk, DJ Tiësto, Ferry Corsten, ATB, etc. are "not" trance music anymore. Personally, that's a sad claim, because all music genres evolve, including trance.

I used Sytrus for many of the synths. It was the only plugin I had to pay additionally, because it was the Producers Edition I've bought, which did not include that synth. x_x Most of the sound effects came from 3xOsc. The voice was generated using FL Studio's built-in text synthesizer.
Wow simply wow. Ok so a bit odd about someone commenting on a bit of an old work right, but this is the first time that im listening after finding this piece fave by on of my watchers.
Im surprised that noone here can catorgorize this, what is so hard? I have been DJ'ing and composing for 4 years. Its Trance. Its not phy trance, Its NOT house, its not even goa. A few FX here and there doesn't alter the beat the rythem not the who theory to make it any diffrent genre.
This is pretty good trance music indeed. More professional than about 50% of the furries I have seen so far. Which goes to say its quite impressive. I take that the beat is about 125-130, Drums are basic pop and snare for trance and even though most techno uses 4 to the floor the diffrent drumsets does make a diffrence in the genre.
Phy Trance is dark and very down-tempo with suden breaks and fills through out. It gives the efect of slow rocking waves in the music. Dark ambience and out tuned insturment betters the feild as they create darker more twisted feels to the music that all puts on the mood.
Goa isn't quite like trance at all for it lies between trance and Energy. Its beats are faster between 130-140 with an Indian tuneing. (INDIA as in Goa India where this music took form) It uses fast beats and high energy produced by acid tracks and backed by even sitars. Chanting is common in most songs and dark ambience in a few. More than common are 32nd notes played like acid with added effect of flangger and twisted resonance.
House is closer sounding to disco than any other from of techno there is for it came right after in the new age '80's. Bounce riffs and tight hats with a moving bass is what moves house. Very hard leads like Squares and Sawtoothed synths produce more of a funk than something more suddle like trance.
Tempo from 110-130 . XD Most music from my early days is conciderd house.
Progressive, This isn't a genre at all. Its just the way the song was made. When you start off with one instrument then enter another then another all playing along then switch it and do the same that is a progression towards the melody untill all the insturments play that part they were assigned to. Thus anything can be conciderd progressive.
=P I do alot of research .. And I love Techno so there you have my two cents about this piece and hopefully a better classification on the genre of this song.

That's... very informative. o_o;; Thanks for the clarification.
Of course it's trance. However, you did not mention specifically which subgenre of trance it belongs to. x_x Not that it matters, because I usually don't like classifying my songs to which subgenre they belong to. New subgenres keep popping out every year or so -- like, what the heck is "schranz"?! --, which only makes it more confusing. @_@
The actual BPM of this song is 135.
Indeed, progressive is not a genre. Trance music itself is already progressive to begin with, so there's no point classifying a song as "progressive trance", because it gives the implication that other songs are not progressive.
Anyway, this trance song was born from being utterly offended by Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music, a very inaccurate and biased online guide that mocks my most favorite trance music subgenres (especially what he calls "Dutch trance", formerly "not trance").

I actrully know of that guide. It is how I learned about most other styles. Though it is opinative of techno and not so accurate, it does give a refrence into techno..
Not many know but Techno is the Style and a Genre. It is one of the main branches in the feild of Techno. Example: Tech-House, Acid-Tech, Sub-Tech, etc. Trance is also a main branch and a genre. In the case of this song it is Trance-Trance. No other wording needed.
Of you would like a breakdown of the diffrent sub-genre under Trance I will be more than happy to share.
