Dr. Emma Winter is a psychopath with a desire for violence, often laughing maniacally when conducting experiments or killing. All through her career, Winter has been at the forefront of torture and information extraction research. Winter is an incurable sociopath, who cares nothing but herself and seeing results in her work. It's been noted when she is not killing or conducting experiments, she is on the calmer, quieter side, talking to herself alone quite a bit.

Doctor Emma Winter formed Group 750, a research team dedicated to study the discovery of other dimensions. Along with her group Winter would work on many projects, with important ones being teleportation experiments. Eventually Winter used herself as a test subject for teleporation, leading her to be teleported into mysterious area within the earth, Winter came into contact a strange pillar that had a strange language engraved onto its surface, unknown to her as the Prophet Pillar hidden by an enitity from another reality. While inspecting the pillar, Winter was engulfed by black flames and begins to have visions on what will happen in the future, she also begins to hear the voices of the corruption including the otherworld entity, inside her head.

The pillar then transported Winter to a deserted area where she learned about the otherworld creatures that were planning to target their world for destruction. Winter was gradually driven insane by an obssession to discover more about the other world and gain more power. Afterwards she traveled back to her lab where she carried an order to capture pokemon, so that she was able to enhance them to combat the unknown enemy. Winter's experiminations were described brutal as her victims always screamed in agony before she snuffed out their light. Only a few pokemon had survived her experimentation, among those few was experiment #844 who later gets known as Rio.
