SO yeah. =) This is the starting point for my final project in painting class. I did this in today's class, and the under painting is about 20% done right now, as you can see, but I thought I'd post it anyway because I like how it's going. I need to fix that right arm, and left ear of course, but right now, I just want to get the basic idea going.
My prof wanted something representational, NOTHING cliche, or sentimental, (Like something your grandma would hang in her living room, as she put it.) but still professional, and interesting.
I was going over ideas with her on the weekend, and none of them were really working for her, so she was like "Well, what do you NORMALLY paint in your spare time?" So I told her, expecting her to not really like the idea of anthropomorphic animals, but she actually surprised me and told me to go with it. o_o
She said that was a lot more original than the other ideas I was throwing out there, because many people find human type animals strange....and she actually said "If you go about it the right way, this could be a very interesting painting. :D"
So what she suggested was that I paint similiar to how I normally would, but use lighting techniques similiar to various historical paintings. I liked that idea, So, I think I shall do that. :3
She saw this in class today and said I had a pretty good start, so we'll see how it goes. 83
