This is Crux, a wolf adopt by
Techno--Raptor . They were so kind too, because they turned the more sketch-like adopt that I purchased into this polished reference sheet completely for free! Shoutouts to them! Crux's name is Latin for "cross," in particular THE cross, as in a crucifixion frame. (From Wikipedia: Latin crux meant generically "a tree, frame, or other wooden instruments of execution, on which criminals were impaled or hanged" and in particular "a cross". ... The word crux took on the metaphorical meaning of torment or torture, especially mental (crucio).)
Crux isn't particularly torturous now, but he is a grizzled, older war veteran of a wolf. He has been around the block a bit, and seen it all. It takes a lot to phase him. Even though he does not move as well as he used to, he is still pretty lithe and VERY strong. His age and experience have given him invaluable battle-wisdom, worth far more in the field than such strength anyway. As such, he can still easily whip the young whelps that unwisely think, much to their misfortune, that he is long past his prime and incapable.
Crux is a capable leader, though a frequent loner, given that he has largely become cynical and distrustful as the years went on. His manner and speech command respect of others, and anyone who knows him gives it to him. With his distinguished and decorated past, he has been honoured many times over, though would never settle for a "desk job" as those above his rank might, and as such has refused promotions repeatedly, saying he would rather retire than he a "bureaucrat". He has fought many hard battles, and done work both visible and never to be spoken of, doing things that still trouble his mind in the quiet times, though he'd never admit it. As with many older soldiers, he does not sleep easy, and never has. Sometimes he starts in the night, reacting to something only he can see, but only when alone. He won't let others see that weakness. It's his burden to bear. And he will, for as long as they will let him.
