K/D Industries - K2030 Custom - 'Maelstrom 30'

The gold clad battle rifle bares little resemblance to the original K2030 or even the standard maelstrom series. The bullpup configured rifle has a custom brass plated frame with wooden furniture. Integrated into the front of the gun is a large suppressor to deaden the sound of firing. Mounted on top of the carrying grip is a 3x magnification reflex sight. Additional optics can me mounted in front of the scope, usually a combination of night and infrared vision system. The standard magazines for the rifle is a 20 round box to keep the size down. The rifle can seat 30 round magazines as well for heavier fire fights. The both the rifle's pistol grip and built-in vertical fore grip and with small pistol magazine style utility modules. The fore grip hides a mini tactical flashlight with compass. The pistol's storage magazine is filled with basic survival supplies such as waterproof matches and fishing line. The storage compartment for the field striping and cleaning kit can be found under the rubber butt plate. The mounting rail is fully comparable with other under barrel weapons.

Attached under the barrel is a 40mm grenade launcher complete with folding grip to allow it to be detached and used as a separate weapon. The grenade launcher has wooden grips and brass plating to keep with the style of the rifle. The single shot grenade launcher is fully compatible with the 40mm family of cartridges from the classic 40x46mm HEDP all the way up to the monstrous 40x75mm missiles and canisters rounds.

As an alternative to the launcher, an underbarrel shotgun with room for six 12ga 3-inch shotgun shells provides multiple shots of punch. The integrally suppressed revolver style shotgun has been customized with a wood foregrip. Loading anything from the full brass hulls of the high velocity 'from hell' slugs to the high tech 'frag 12' mini grenades the shotgun provides the fox versatile mix of firepower.

A real beast of a launcher that maximizes firepower over portability, the trident triple-fire grenade launcher is the king of underbarrel launchers. The three lobe revolving cylinder can chamber up to 40x75mm cartridges. A larger 5 lobe cylinder does exist for the launcher but the added weight truly pushes the user from rifleman to grenadier.
