The castle that rises among the delightful hills next to the lush woods of Valmeridia is shaken by a tremor. A great clamor mixed with songs and cheers can be heard a bit throughout the princedom, as the anniversary of an ancient battle that had made every subject of the land proud is approaching.
Written pleadings remains of it, memories of the oldest inhabitants of the princedom, and now even tangible evidence!
The relic symbol of the defeat of tyranny in favor of the free peoples who came to live in peace in the lands of Valmeridia, and which had remained hidden in the distant past inside an ancient temple lost outside the confines of the principality, was finally torn from oblivion and brought back to safety, among the hills of Prince Borgon.
The dragon encouraged his subjects, thundering from above, to make the ancient splendor of the tradition of his lands shine, almost as if a new secular crusade was about to start.
The challenge to make the ceremony memorable immediately attracted a host of contenders.
The districts start to parade the streets to make them worthy to the passage of the relic.
The theater company proposes a scenic representation of the skirmish for the reconquest of the sacred fragments.
Local bards, ready to fully cover the event with sonnets and songs from morning to evening, make the shouting that already rises on the streets more lively.
The merit of such an unexpected event is to be attributed to the dragon Arix, who in his incessant pilgrimage from land to land had accidentally found the ancient relic, and recognized on it the symbols proper to the ruler of Valmeridia.
Taking on an epic as well as risky undertaking, the warrior alone had challenged the rigor of winter and the test of a long journey, returning to Valmeridia just a few weeks before the big event was held.
Prince Borgon had shown himself quite amazed to find in his garden, at the call of Silva, just what had been up to that moment an object permeated with an aura of legend, whose only proof of truth was what it had been left in writing by the dragons who had preceded him on the throne.
And so, as befits a good ruler, the prince had been careful not to take credit for that find, and instead hadinvited Arix to stay at the castle until the day of the big party, and to take the room he preferred to the castle, while he praised him with his subjects.
Certainly the red dragon of the Ordragc family would have been the protagonist of all popular attention during the big party...
This is just a very nice idea that my dear friend
ArixO and I had some time ago, wonderfully turned into reality by
Kahlu's skills.
I'm really happy with how he turned the concept we proposed to him into this piece of art. Kahlu is after all a very good friend as well, and I love his style because it's very round and a little cartoonish.
In this pic in particular, it gives the scene the right vibe, personally ^^
Go take a look at his gallery when you have time, you won't regret it
