The alternate title for this: "Don't call me weak!"
But I like the "Lonely" aspect much more.
Well, here it is... another "BEASTARS" fan artwork and... this time it's my version of Louis.
Louis is a very complex character... how can you do him justice? What scene is the most interesting, tense or horrible one I can think of? Which moment has changed his life forever?
I've chosen the scene right after he killed a person for the first time. Yes, that person has been an evil mob boss... but does it make it any better?
After this kill Louis will never be the same.
As you can see I've tried to put so many symbols in this artwork... aspects of innocence, evil, passion, strength, weakness, psychosis, determination, loss, life and death... it's too complex to name them all so I just hope you enjoy my version of this character.
This time I've used my own "anime style with realistic proportions"... this was quite fitting!

Most impressive work on Louis, Reppy. He is indeed a complex character who goes through a lot and his growth is one of the more intriguing aspects to the story. : )
I am curious about giving him sharp toenails. He normally has blunt toenails like all herbivores (and like us too), unless you made them that way to symbolize his change into a darker character.

About the toenails... I guess that was just a mistake on my part. I thought I've seen him with sharp claws... but it can't be true because your comment makes sense.
Though... the idea about him slowly turning into a predator... some kind of beast... that is quite cool! Yeah, I'll take it!

There is a lot of symbolism in this picture and while I don't consider this here a "masterpiece" I am still happy how it turned out.
There are obvious and less obvious symbols, yeah... but anybody who KNOWS the character might be delighted. ^^
Also... THIS is the 3rd BEASTARS artwork and the third style I've used... I wanted every artwork to be unique and not just a collection of characters... like collectible cards or something.
Every picture has to be special!

Three artworks - three styles! The first one (100% true to the NETFLIX version) is still the most faved one... but I hope that you guys like all the versions I present.

I was absolutely drawn into this show right from the jump. The characters, the stories all fantastic. Right from the thumbnail of this image all I could think of was "Louis" due to the facial expression. Honestly, Patrick I've got to say you've done an excellent job capturing so many symbolic traits.
Not to mention the antlers in the smoke wisp from the gun. Very nice touch! :D

I've seen the show at least 5 times now.
And the manga... well, in Germany we got only the first 5 issues by now... issue 6 shall be ready in June and issue 7 in August.
You see... even I have to wait... but it's worth it.

It's good to collect and enjoy both media... because the manga has some surprises.

I Love this! Louis is one of my most favorite characters in BEASTARS for sure! I actually have a Male Anthropomorphic Albino Deer character named Shigenori Redfang who was partially inspired from Louis! Yes, Louis may have killed one Lion, but that's nothing compared to how many Shigenori Redfang have gruesomely killed just to defend himself from both Non-Anthro and Anthro predators! Anyways, Awesome work here Reptile/Patrick! Love ya and stay safe!
