“Ugh, don’t people understand what a vacation means?” Said Miss as she sat on her hotel bed. Miss had set up everything at work so she could finally get a vacation. Sure working online and doing commissions can be easy to schedule but there are always holes in a foolproof plan. Even though she made sure that she told everyone that she would be on vacation, not only online but at her non-drawing job, people were still messaging her for information, favor, or work. Don’t these people understand that she doesn’t want to work at the moment? With a huff, she set her phone down onto the nearby nightstand and tried to calm her growing headache. She would be in Alola for a nice week-long vacation and she was not going to let people stand in the way. Now, what to do. Miss sat up and avoiding the messages, opened up a browser to check what she should do. There were food joints, local parks, wildlife tours, and many more options. She had arrived just after one and she had already gotten lunch. Miss’s phone once again rang out with a notification but Miss ignored it and turned off her notifications. Maybe she should try something with fewer people. So she scrolled through places trying to find one where she wouldn’t be bothered. Five minutes later, she found the perfect area. It was a hike that was a part of four other trails that lead around the city and local area. The trail was known for being usually unoccupied and many offshoots leading to small secluded areas. Some of the local reviews said that the area was a ‘life changer’. Probably dramatic but perfect. With a toss, Miss left her phone on her bed and grabbed the complimentary water off of the desk. With a renewed vigor, she quickly exited her hotel room.
The hike wasn’t that far away from her hotel. She hadn’t been on a hike in a long time but the start of the hike wasn’t too bad. As she was walking up, she spotted some of the branching paths off to the left and right. She decided to why not give one a shot. Part of the fun of being on a vacation is getting out of your comfort zone and trying something new. With a confident stride, she made her way down one of the left paths. The offshoot that she took was a surprisingly long one. She went down and up hills and passed many trees and Pokemon along the way. Most of the Pokemon were friendly and didn’t care that Miss was there. Miss was loving this. This has been a great trip to take her mind off of everything and not have to worry. After a last bit of hill, Miss decided to take a break and finish off her water. After a minute of resting, she noticed another trail off of the path that looked like it wasn’t walked by in a while. Miss thought about it and thought ‘Eh screw it, adventure!’ as she made her way through the path.
The path was covered heavily in bushes and with overhead trees. The sun was blocked by the overhead tree’s providing a nice shaded walk. The distant calls and chirps of Pokemon helped add to the calming atmosphere. “Man.” Miss said, “This is so cool!” She continued her way through the path before another sound was slowly added to the sounds of the forest. Miss followed the sound until she found the cause.
A waterfall poured off a nearby rock face into a small pond that led off into a small stream. The quiet crashing water made everything feel so calm. The treeline broke right above the edge of the pond providing a stream of light into the pool and surrounding area “Wow! It’s a perfect little resting area.” Miss said as she found a nice-sized rock to sit on and rest. “I wish I could stay here for the entire trip. Nobody else would be here. I wouldn’t have to worry about anything at all.” Little did Miss know that someone was more than happy to help make that wish true. Miss sat upon the rock and came up with an ingenious plan. She could go for a nice swim. Miss would have to skinny dip but screw it, she was on vacation. She hadn’t seen anyone on the trail beforehand and the way to get here was meant that it was very unlikely for anyone to follow. She quickly kicked off her shoes and socks and dipped her feet into the water. It was nice and cool and Miss quickly took off the rest of her clothes. She got off the rock and slowly made her way into the pool and over towards the waterfall. As she was walking across, Miss’s thoughts had slowly sunk into the back of her consciousness, all that was there was the feeling of relaxation. She didn’t notice as she had lost some of her height as she made her way across. Her feet had started to turn blue and form down into small paws. Miss slowly began to lean forward and made her way forward with the help of her front hands which followed suit transforming into webbed paws to help her swim with her new hands. Miss didn’t notice the change of form or the growing blue that had begun to overtake her body. Miss only felt how great the water was and just how relaxed she felt. She wanted to just melt into the water and sink further into the comfort. Miss shook her spine in order to help push out her new growing tail. Blue fins began to pop out of her tail and spine and felt like a nice massage. Her ears slowly began to melt back into her head and were quickly replaced with two yellow fins growing in their place and one growing on top of her head. A large fin circled her neck and gave Miss a nice regal look. Her face was still contempt as her nose began to shrink and her eyes slowly became bigger like that of a vaporeon. When Miss finally reached the waterfall, she had fully transformed into a vaporeon. She quickly ducked her head underneath the waterfall and let out a “pooour” She quickly looked back over to her pond. Welp this is the best way to relax on vacation.
