Trolley Square is a middle class neighborhood in Wilmington, one of the few urban neighborhoods that never experienced a major decline when middle class residents were leaving the city center in droves. The name comes from the rail yard in the neighborhood that once served the city's trolleys. These days only a place name. They've been gone for so long even my grandmother couldn't remember the city having a trolley system. Aside from middle class families that call it home trolley square also plays host to a number of popular bars, and a large population of young professionals who work downtown or commute to Philadelphia.
