Chapter 4

As Yami Yugi ran back to the Kaiba mansion, he muttered "I have to warn Kaiba about Marik before it's too late!" Once he arrived, he went through the door, He spotted Mokuba talking with Roland. He ran up to them as he said "Sorry to interrupt, but Mokuba, have you seen your brother?!" "Seto's in his study." Mokuba said. "Thanks." Yami Yugi said as he ran off. Once he reached the study, he opened the door, and said "Kaiba! Joey's in real trouble! You have to help me!" "Not now, Yami Yugi." Kaiba said "I'm busy." "But, Kaiba! It's important!" Yami Yugi said. "Marik used his Millenium Rod to control Joey! I saw it through the keyhole back in his apartment!" "Yami Yugi!" Kaiba yelled out. "When I say I'm busy, I mean it!" Kaiba said. "Now stop being paranoid, and stop bothering me! I have work to do!" He threw Yami Yugi out of the study, and closed the door. He sighed in defeat as he muttered "Maybe Yugi was right. I am just being overprotective. And Kaiba's probably right. I am paranoid." As he headed back to the Game Shop, he bumped into someone. He looked up to see Bakura who said "Oh my! I'm sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going!" "It's ok." Yami said. As they recovered, Yami Yugi sighed, Bakura said "What's wrong." "I thought something was wrong with Marik, but I was wrong." "Oh." Bakura said. "Tell you what. If I see something strange, I'll let you know." Yami Yugi smiled, and said "Thanks." "You're welcome." Bakura said. They then went their seperate ways.

-The next morning-

At the church, Joey, Marik, and the rest of the gang were participating in the wedding rehersal. Marik was standing next to Yami Yugi, Duke, Tristan, and Yami Bakura. The bridesmaids, Serenity, Tea, and Mai were walking down the aisle, and Rebecca was walking behind them while pretending to throw rose petals in the air. Behind the door, Joey looked at his mother as he said "Thanks for doing this with me, mom. I would have asked dad, but...you know how he is." "Yeah, I know. But, don't let this ruin your special day." Mrs. Wheeler. "And then, Joey Wheeler will enter the room." Kaiba said as the door opened. Joey and his mother walked down the aisle. Once they reached the end, Marik took Joey by the hand, and pulled him up, and close to him as Kaiba said "The priest will say a few words, and we'll begin the vows. Marik, you'll get the ring from the ring bearer." Marik just stared at Yugi who smiled. "Well, that's it." Kaiba said. "We are all set for tomorrow." They then left the church, and went their seperate ways.

-The next day-

The big day had finally arrived, and the gang could not be more excited. In the dressing room Marik was getting ready when he heard someone knocking, and he said "Come on in." Yami Yugi who was wearing a tuxedo entered, and said "Hey, can we talk?" Marik shrugged, and said "Sure." Yami Yugi smiled, and said "Great." Listen, I want to apologize for suspecting you for not changing your ways after Battle City. I thought you were still evil." Marik smirked, and said "Well, let me tell you something. You will be." Yami raised an eyebrow in confusion, and said "Why?" "Cause I am sending you to the Shadow Realm!" Marik said as he pulled out his Millennium Rod. Before Yami Yugi could do anything, his soul was sent to the Shadow Realm, and his body collapsed. Marik smirked as he dragged Yami Yugi on the floor, and placed him in the closet. Back at his apartment, Joey suddenly grabbed his head as he screamed in pain. Then, his eyes turned blank and lifeless as his expression became vacant.
