This is another picture of Dagger.
Most folks see Dagger and all they see is a very angry, terse cat, and given his history and story, that's not entirely off base. But I wanted to show that Dagger has a much different side to him. It's that tender, gentle side rarely seen. I suppose I'm lucky, that I got to see this side of him quite often. For most other people, he had on his more "tough-guy" expression and tension.
This is a profile shot, and in this, Dagger's just laying there, relaxed, enjoying the afternoon breeze. Life is grand. This one also shows of his dramatic facial markings, including the fact that his "mustache" doesn't really stop, but goes right on over the bridge of his muzzle to the other side. You can also see the tiny freckles on his dark-pink nose, and his vastly deep and amazingly colored eyes.
So this is the DagDag, in a calm and serene moment. Doesn't it just make you want to reach out and scratch under his chin? But make sure your wearing your kevlar, titanium-reinforced gloves. :)
This picture was taken 21-Apr-04. The image was taken with a Canon EOS 10D and the EF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 USM lens. The original was taken at full frame of 3072x2048x24b, ISO eqv 400, 1/180 shutter, f/5.6. This image was cropped and shrunken down for space conservation.

Dagger and I had a wonderful relationship, IMHO. Very truthfully, I can say he enriched my life profoundly.
If you're curious, look in my journal entry for 31-Dec, as I tell a whole lot more of his - and my - story. It's quite long, and I should probably offer the warning that folks that have read it claim it's a tear-jerker of an entry, so beware. :)

Your right it is quite a moving story. There will always be someone close and dear to you moving through your life. The only thing you can really do is cherish those times and drawy strength from them knowing that when they do leave a part of them will always be with you.
Possessions wither, money goes fast, and time slowly breaks down everything. But nothing can take your memories, and the happiness they bring. XD dang someone like me with a terrible memory is up the crick without a paddle. I need to start keeping a journal I think. XD
