Yesterday I was dicking around with watercolours. I need to keep practising! I plan on adding more details today, fixing his eyes, and make the edges tatty (the bottom of the paper already is, and I want to figure out how to match it.)

You could use a sponge on the back to dampen the edges, fold the very edge of the paper against a table/desk and carefully tear the paper along the fold? I know it produces frayed edges, but never tried it with watercolor paper.

Thanks! I've just finished it now. I sanded it! It looks fantastic. I wanted to keep it rough and un-uniform, and this seemed to work well. I didn't trust myself to tear it, especially with it being quite thick. <3
