So recently my boyfriend and I started a Soul Link Nuzlocke of Pokemon Sword and Shield. He killed off a couple of minor pairs by the time we got to the first Gym, but we were sitting pretty. He had a newly evolved Vileplume and Dottler for Milo, and I had a Vikavolt named Icky Vicky and a Stunky named Penelope. Honestly, in the past Stunky was always a Pokemon I loved but never seriously considered using. However, I got my chance when it was my Route 3 Encounter, paired with his Galarian Zigzagoon. It was awesome, and actually put in decent work, especially in using Acid Spray to break down walls. I couldn't wait for Penelope to evolve, and I swear at least half the stuff I was looking up centered around Stunky, be it Moves, whether Stench stacks with Multi-Hit Moves, and so forth. I loved Penelope.
We made it through Milo, and I went ahead to fight the Reporter crew right outside of Turffield: My Vikavolt, paired with his Dottler, and Tympole, paired with his Vileplume, against a Klink and a Helioptile. I made a lapse in judgement and Tympole went down from being doubled in against with two Electric Moves, bringing my boyfriend's Vileplume with it. I felt so, so bad, as this was the first major death, and it was entirely my fault. Luckily, he found another Oddish as an encounter, ignored Dupes, and caught it. We spent a while preparing for Nessa now that his Grass Type was dead, but after two hours of not being able to find a Leaf Stone, he called it quits and we took on Nessa without a hitch.
Then came the two encounters in the Galar Mine #2. We had already agreed that we would get one regular encounter there, then for the Static Stunfisk, one of us could catch the Stunfisk itself, the other could catch something else random in the mine. I got a Croagunk, which I didn't think I'd need considering I had Penelope, but caught anyway. However, underestimating the threat that is Stunfisk, and not realizing it had the Fighting-Type Move Revenge, my boyfriend's Zigzagoon went down in one hit, tearing my precious Penelope away from me.
We had already agreed to call it a night after catching the two Galar Mine #2 encounters, but I was devastated. Upon further looking into it, I realized we could get our North Lake Miloch Encounter, which, after dupes, would be 80% Stunky. Even then, I feel it would almost be disrespectful to my favorite team member to just replace her, but it would almost be just as disrespectful to just forget about her so easily. So tonight, when we continue, I'll be praying I catch a new Stunky. And if she dies, I won't lie, I'd be prepared to Shiny Hunt for another one to enact Shiny Clause, especially since Shiny Skuntank looks soooo goooodd!
Which brings us to this piece. I was in a very Stunky/Skuntank-loving mood, so I decided to try drawing it in its Shiny Form. I absolutely love how it turned out, and hope you all agree~
