Owls always look so penitent to me. Apparently she did something to warrant being turned into an owl. Perhaps being too noisy in the library.

Penitent... not the first word I think of with owls... mysterious, serene, secretive... those are the first things that came to mind. BUT... as you mention it, I am beginning to see what you mean looking at it.
Actually, the tf here helps me a bit. I always thought owls looked like they had their faces smashed in with a cast iron skillet, but looking at this, I can see its more a case of their heads pointing down, like a swan for example... The feathers merely convey the look of a face in the front of the creature: a fascinating evolutionary trait.
So yeah, looking at this transformation has actually taught me something new about avian/owl anatomy that I wouldn't have learned without finding a picture of a plucked owl (not a pleasant proposition). That kind of attention to detail is noteworthy... right?

a plucked owl, or seeing little baby owllets from heuh! http://www.sportsmansparadiseonline.....t_Box_Cam.html
.....! !
Wow, what an extremely cool link you shared! I can't help but think of this as a sort of "afterpiece" to your drawing... more or less showing the simple, uncomplicated life afterward... its actually calming and theraputic just to watch them keep each other company.
You bet I will be watching this often... thanks again!
(P.S: Those fat, cute little fuzzy owlets are a great anatomy reference for a not-yet-feathered owl, for tf or otherwise... this beats the pants off of a simple anatomy sheet)
