Since you're just starting out I'd really recommend to avoid photoshop grass brushes. They're not versatile at all and pretty much scream "amateur". So to develop skills for the future, brush out the grass by hand. Plus, it'll help you develop that coordination!

Oh, I could've sworn that looked like a PS grass brush. Does SAI have their own grass brush?

Not that im aware of, i just have the basic tools for it, but for the grass strands i used the paintbrush tool with simple circle texture and did it kind of like i do hair, but upside down.

and for the big patch of green i used different shades with the paintbrush tool and the "Fuzzy static" setting and different shades of density

Hmm...I'd recommend keeping everything you have, but keep brushing from that line of strands so it covers the whole patch. It's a lot of effort but it should pay off. The biggest glitch I see with the piece now is the hard line below the row of grass strands, and that should cover that up.

As much as I hate to pimp my own work, that's what I did for the grass on one of my pictures

Wow, that's pretty amazing. I like the shadding style you have there, the fur colors and sky seem to blend well together but I have to agree with the comment above about the grass. It seems sorta out of place for the picture, but it still works well.
