From May 20 2020, the classic mode of Deviantart will be no longer supported and all users will be forced to use the Eclipse version.
And I'm not ok with this decision at all.
The Eclipse mode is still not comparable of the classic version. Many things aren't availables, such some possibilites in groups, journals and mostly our profiles. As you can see, I'm a core member, and I pay for that service since 2016. I need it mostly to customize my profile. I've spent a huge amount of time and effort to have a great profile, because I think it's really important for an artist to have an art gallery that's suiting his universe, style and artworks. But now, it's useless.
Also, you can't either really customize the style of your categories, journals, etc. Many things that deviant users loves to use, like stamps, profile bars are also useless on Eclipse.
There is simply no needs to be a core member on Eclipse. And I still have 11 months left! What will I do with it?... I've asked a refund, it's the only possibility I can choose. And if they don't put real customization for core members, I'll never subscribe again, because it's useless!

I don't see any interest to have the exact same website... And to be honest, I don't like this design, it's really unpersonnal and cold, not original. It's seems to be like every other websites, with no soul, no particularities. And it's a website for artists! That's really sad...
I'm not against a new design for DeviantArt, and I can understand that supporting HTML can be dangerous. But we're waiting for real options for customization on Eclipse since 2 years and almost nothing has been done, same thing about the bugs...! (Like the banner in Eclipse won't fit even if your image have the resolution asked =___=)
So I'll join the "The sound of Silence" tomorrow:
"Starting May 1st, I will not be active on Deviantart. I will not submit new deviations, journals or even visit the site for 3 Days time. From 12:00AM CST May 1st to 12:00am May 4th. (3 days) I ask all other Users who wish to keep old Deviantart to join me in this statement of silence. "
I suggest you do to the same if you care.
Deviantart was unique because of all of these features, now it's going to be like every other social network, boring and unpersonnal. I also think that with this update, DeviantArt will no longer earn enough money to run theirs servers in the future, because many core members will no longer renew their subscription... So I've created an Artstation, I think it may be the next big website for artists.
