The Marionette [concept]
Years as a mortal... and years as a cursed being... and many more years as a simple puppet to be played in a show -- until someone overthrew the puppet master. The longer one is a marionette, the more like a marionette they truly become. Most of those puppets had been there for decades, centuries even... Knight Wolf was the exception. "A new puppet" he was called, used to put on plays about corpulent werewolves trying to make sense of the world... a mockery of sorts, and with the several years of being a marionette, 5 years? A decade? He didn't know. He lost sense of time... when the time arose for the curse to be lifted, he was surprised to see he was actually alive...
but what was he? Was he a human turned puppet, reverted to a human? Or a puppet turned human with delusions of a past life? He wished to say the prior, but something new has shown on his face -- a hinged jaw that opens down to his belly. It feels... real. It has fur, saliva, etc... but it acts like a marionette mouth, opening and closing. When there is no force trying to open his mouth or keep it shut, it works normally... but once someone opens it, he's powerless to shut it.
All the stories of Knight Wolf... those were just stories from a puppet show. He never truly was a hero... at least, not to anyone but Tudor. Tudor knew him the longest. Tudor said Knight Wolf started out as a human/werewolf and was turned into a puppet... and reverted to a human, but Knight Wolf still doubts this. Everyone asks "Who created you? You've got fine craftsmanship! You're almost real!" PEople ridicule him and say he isn't real, that he's just a conjuration of magic put into a puppet.... If not for Tudor, Knight Wolf would always believe he was a puppet.
"It's just another curse, Knight Wolf." Tudor remarks. "You had a tally going. How many so far? eight? You seem to collect them as if collecting seashells." Tudor bends over and kisses Knight Wolf's head. "We will find a way to fix it. You will be you again, do not worry."
But Knight Wolf did worry. If he had so many curses on him, what was he...?
~~~~~
Knight Wolf has a bit of an... upgrade. A recent TF curse turned him part-marionette... and I love it.
