Hey all, here’s something new! Myoti was selling some adorable adoptables a while ago and I kind of fell in love with this little guy’s design. So much in fact, that I created a backstory for him!
Anywho, without further ado I’d like to introduce you all to Mr. Tugalong!
Well, technically this isn’t the first time some of you are seeing him, because his debut was actually in the background of this pic here:
As for Mr. Tugalong’s backstory, he’s actually an ancient dragon who has existed for a few millennia. Given his cute, plush-like body he has spent many years passing hands between different owners thinking he is a toy.
Anyone who would trace his history of owners would see that all of them met strange fates after coming in contact with their unusual ‘toy.’ Even more oddly enough, despite leaving a trail of chaos in his wake, hardly anyone has ever linked Mr. Tugalong to the bizarre happenings that have surrounded him.
This is because Mr. Tugalong is a magic-wielder, with a particular focus on infantile/regressive magic. Once Mr. Tugalong leaves a home, he always ends up in the hands of someone who has a need for his particular talents next.
Once Mr. Tugalong finds his new ‘special friend’ only they will be aware of his strange idiosyncrasies, with everyone else usually thinking that he is just a toy (although there have been some notable exceptions to this).
After Mr. Tugalong has magically bonded himself to his new ‘special friend’ he will begin to use his magic as he sees fit. However, most magic cannot be used without a price.
Fortunately for Mr. Tugalong, the price for activating his magic is usually his special friend becoming regressed in some capacity. The source of magic doesn’t need to be his special friend, and Mr. Tugalong usually prefers to draw his power from sources he deems need to ‘chill out’ a bit.
A power Mr. Tugalong can use without draining a host is sprouting a pair of tiny, bat-like wings from his back, although he is capable of ‘walking’ on air, so this power is a bit useless for him.
In addition to his infantilizing magic, Mr. Tugalong can summon almost anything he wants with a flick of his wrist and can even warp reality to some degree. However, if he has only drained a little energy from someone, anything he has summoned will usually disappear rather quickly and any aspect of reality he has warped will revert rapidly or simply disappear as though it were an illusion.
If Mr. Tugalong has absorbed a substantial amount of energy from someone, or even a group of individuals he can summon objects that last or even make permanent changes to the reality of a given region. Such a level of magic would cause whomever he has drained to likely suffer permanent bowel and bladder incontinence for the rest of their lives, and they would likely demonstrate regressed behavior as well, with thumb sucking as a common after-effect, to full on mental regression to infanthood in extreme cases.
Despite the chaos he seemingly spreads, Mr. Tugalong claims he is a nice guy, who seems to genuinely believe he is making the world a better place through his shenanigans, and even if someone doesn’t want Mr. Tugalong’s unique brand of ‘help’ he will dish it out to whomever he thinks needs it.
---
Welp, that just about covers everything I wanted to say about this guy. I would love to hear what you all think about him!
Also if you have any questions about him that I didn’t answer above, feel free to ask!
Lastly, I have a question for all you! Who would you guys pick to be a voice actor for Mr. Tugalong if he was an animated cartoon character? Let me know in the comments below!

Wow, he definitely sounds like a fun and toony character, and I look forward to seeing the various wacky shenanigans he’ll get into with his “special friends.”
I guess you’ll probably answer this later on, but I’m definitely curious about where Mr. Tugalong originally came from and how he came to acquire his special powers?
For a voice actor, I’m thinking Samuel Vincent would be a good pick. 😊

Toony is right! He literally acts like a classic Looney Tunes cartoon character.
Mr. Tugalong's origins are shrouded in mystery and he's not talking (for now at least). 😜
That's a cool choice, but I imagine his voice would be a bit deeper and gruffer than Samuel Vincent's usual roles, to contrast his overall silly personality and cute looks.
