Joining Ascendancy Ranks [P]
While she was cryogenically frozen, Persephone, or Sara's world destroyed itself in a nuclear exchange. Her cryotube was abducted by Solaran Union scavenger ships, but intercepted by Ascendancy forces before the Union could secure her. It wasn't long until this Earthling would ultimately find herself dragged into an interstellar conflict that no one on her world knew of.
Intel suggests the union was well aware Sara was a super-soldier (and likely had a hidden hand in the nuclear war on Earth), and they assumed cloning her would aid the Union in their struggle against the Ascendancy.
To test the waters, Sara agreed to deploy with the Ascendancy "Irregulars" on an op against a Federation flagship to extract a VIP. Sara's performance results were staggering. Her display of enhanced physical strength, reflexes and agility, combined with her skills and quick learning led to a rather massive body count on the Federation ship. Her lethality and efficiency has been compared to that of the Ascendancy "Postroitka" synthetics (and Sara's even been mistaken for one on more than one occasion because of her stoic personality and focus). The Solaran Union was right to assume Sara was an invaluable asset.
Following this 'baptism by fire', realizing she had no home in the universe to go back to, or had no other skills in anything else, Sara was quick to pledge herself to the Ascendancy, the only companions she had in this new, rapidly expanding universe in front of her.
While Sara was already in peak physical condition by Earth standards, as is typical with Ascendancy subjects, Sara was encouraged, and ultimately agreed to take on what was called the "Ascendancy's Gift". A genetic modification that grants the subject the physical appearance "ideal" to the Ascendancy, particularly breast and hip enhancement, and being a hermaphrodite, the enhancements extended to other assets. A touch vain and tactically unnecessary in her eyes, but she's grown accustomed to it.
To this day, she still serves with the Irregulars as one of the Ascendancy's most hyper-lethal vectors.
