All The Strange, Strange Creatures...
(... too much Dr. Who music... sue me xD)
Beware, more RotH art! :P
This is the alternate idea I had for the cover of Rules of a Hunt, but it was too dependent on the story and, at the same time, way too inaccurate.
It's actually a sneak peek, sort of. Here, Sabes leads the band of my story's version of heroes. Oh yes, they got pretty messed up. That's how Omniverse works after all - in some dimensions, things get pretty hairy.
But with this one, I'm throwing you a bone - guess who just made an appearance? Hint: All of them were X-Men, at one point or another. And all of them are recognizeable, though the old lion will probably be the hardest to guess :)
As for the comic, don't worry. It's under works. Page nine should appear soon.

Alrighty. Well clearly the one holding the staff is Gambit due to the red eyes; and the blue furry monkey is Nightcrawler (hence the tail and ears); the bull is Bishop (M scar over his eye); I'm guessing the rat wearing the red cape is Sage (there are certain black marks similar to what she has); the one next to Nightcrawler/monkey could be Jean or Rachel Grey (the necklace sure looks familiar); the white lionness I'm guessing is Emma Frost or Storm but can't be sure; the lion I can only assume (and hope) is Beast but not blue furry; clearly the Wolverine is Wolverine (duh); but the female fox, mohawk stallion and the badger I can't decide on who they are.
So how did I do?
So how did I do?
About halfway through. You're good at guessing Sage right, almost noone else did :)
Next to Nightcrawler is Shadowcat (cat, wearing green, David's star pendant), white lioness is Storm (she has been called that several times in the books and Emma would probably end up being far more sneaky and less native :) ) lion is Magneto (proud beast, though greying with age), female fox is a wolf and it's one of the easiest - Wolfsbane (no change at all, including the cross and clothing), stallion is Colossus (short mane, big and strong, yet one of the "harmless" animals), and the badger is Rogue ("wrong" stripes - two white instead of one, green eyes)

Ah brillant! Now I can see why you chose those characters as those were-forms, pretty good actually, espercially Magneto as an old lion (proud yet arrogant)and Rogue with her signiture stripe and Colossus being a farming lad you would be silly to not have him as a farmers working stallion. Shadowcat and Wolfsbane are so easy to regonise now its almost silly to not have guessed it.
Very pleased to have gotten Sage right first time round. It was those tattoos that gave it away (she's the only hero to have them).
Thank you very much for answering my question and for your 'Who's Who' challenge. I look extremely forward to seeing your next comic art.

May I just say, "in-smegging-credible"?
I don't think very many people could make that work, turning the X-men into anthromorphs like that, but you succeeded spectacularly. I particularly like the way you've captured Gambit here; it proves he can still be Gambit, regardless of what world he's from or what species he is.
(Although, part of why I say that is because I still haven't pinned down his species yet; best guess is some kind of weasel or ferret. )

I didn't mean to imply he was worse than your ferrets; I only meant that that cat's habit of swiping my mother's hairbands puts him in the running towards "The Best Thief in the Whole Animal World."
She's had to replace them twice in two months; once because he found out how much fun they are to play with/tear apart, and then again because he swiped the first pack of replacements from right behind her, within ten minutes of her bringing them home, and hid them somewhere(he has since managed to open the plastic bag holding them and scatter them around the house; we've given up finding the last six).
If it were up to me, I'd rate skill like that right up there with Sly Cooper.
