RALLY
Allegiance: Autobot
Function: Bodyguard/Assistant Ambassador
Alt-Mode: Sportscar (Cybertronian)
"Never rely on your first impressions."
BIO: A modified RC-type teaching unit with dreams of Elite Guard-hood, Rally immediately clashed with her drill sergeant over his appointing her with the derogatory name "Alleycat," starting off a series of personality clashes with "Ol' Meteor-Chin" that ultimately resulted in her washing out of boot camp. Despite having her capabilities reduced to civilian levels, she was determined to make good on her dreams of glory and adventure and, after a friendly pep talk and a new nickname to supplant her given one, set herself up as a professional bodyguard specializing in high-risk charges, eventually ending up as the assistant to Ambassador Crosscut, a high-ranking Autobot emissary to newly-contacted alien worlds. She quickly proved herself invaluable to him for both her combat skills and her RC-standard protocol and organizational abilities, so the Ambassador pulled some political strings to get her reinstated into the Autobots just in time for their assignment to the newly-discovered organic world named "Earth."
ABILITIES: In vehicular mode, Rally can reach speeds of 280 mph on the ground; she can also sprout wings from her spoilers which, along with four wheel-mounted hoverjets, allow her to fly at sub-sonic speeds. She has the power to momentarily detect and disrupt hostile cerebral impulses, typically used to throw off an opponent's aim or jam attack commands; by focusing this power, she can actually disrupt the inherent hostility itself, triggering a brief feeling of euphoric bliss and friendliness in her target. For all other hostile situations, however, she carries a thermite machete capable of flash-heating material to roughly 4000 degrees Centigrate on contact, hot enough to carve through most stone and metal with ease, as well as a plasma mini-cannon modified for hand-held use. She is also a skilled practitioner of Crystalocution, although her training is incomplete.
WEAKNESSES: Due to the subtle and even potentially insidious nature of her power, Rally trusts nobody fully, not because of her power being uncontrollable but rather because she is certain others will simply assume she's used her power on them (this was actually the core of the conflict with her drill sergeant). As a result, she can come off as aloof or standoffish at some times and overly friendly and affectionate at others, which has given her the unfairly appointed reputation as a sneaky and manipulative "alley cat." The fact that Crosscut trusts her so implicitly and has gone to bat for her several times unfortunately has reinforced this reputation, even among those who don't know what her abilities are. Additionally, she's not quite as physically strong as her in-your-faceplate combat tendencies would require, which, combined with her overconfidence in her ability to defuse attacks, often results in frequent visits to the repair bay. Lastly, her flight mode is highly fuel consumptive.
EDIT (WAY after the fact): Decided she just calls herself "Rally"..."Rally Cat" sounds too much like a forced pun to me (even if it does fit the "RC model" acronym bit)

Yes and no...my actual modding skills are pretty much limited to part swapping, and the TFA Arcee fig has such a ridiculously huge noggin and long neck that I need to go to Voyager and Leader classes in order to not make the fig look like a total pinhead (and even then it's no guarantee, especially if I'm using a movie fig for a swap donor). Ideally, I'd like to mod the helmet with a couple of "cat-ear" vents, but for now the fact that she so closely resembles Arcee plays into her bio and abilities well enough.
and even then it would be a bitch. the head's on a balljoint, and there's very little clearance under there when transformed. you's have to carve the underside of any other head out in all likelihood even if you could jimmy a ball socket into the noggin.
i wonder if a paint app could give the "cat-ear" impression well enough....

Oh, I can tell alright...her right thumb has already broken off three times, and gluing it back on has made it so she can't hold any of the standard 5mm post weapons in that hand anymore, which is why she's now a southpaw with her cannon. I shaved off the little tabs on the sword grip and turn it slightly in order for her to hold it for the pics.
Nice design and custom, and I really like the bio. It's all ways nice to see the takes on others OC TF characters...then it just reminds me that I really need to redo my own-just my luck I gotta make up a lot of stuff for having fanonverse BS so as to not play around in the actual factual canon.
Key words are funny, lol. I don't think she is a Mary Sue - I see enough super pretty obvious ones by way of DA a lot, but, it's not my call to judge those characters anyway.
Also, YES Crystalocution!!! Good to see that implemented by others by way of OC (Yes, i'm a sucker and use it too)! I am one of those that think quite honestly with the huge amount of Transformers out there, it's not like it's only set to a few certain individuals, just, something hard to learn and perfect without the right training or will to continue.

Well, since crystalocution is non-spiritual and could be used as much for disarming/disabling as for lethal combat, it seemed a good fit for a bodyguard who's more concerned with stopping and apprehending an attacker than killing them, especially considering Rally's comparatively small size and strength. I figured that Rally would've picked it up in boot camp and, since she was kicked out, never finished her training; she's good enough for most opponents, but against masters of the various arts she'd be toast.
...besides, EVERYBODY does metallikato these days, LOL
As for the "Mary-Sue" thing, I know what you mean, and for Rally, I had a few guidelines I set for myself:
1. No famous friends or relatives (which I kinda bent with Crosscut...he's a canon character, but a very obscure Japanese one)
2. Keep the weaknesses non-debilitating but potent AND GIVE LOGICAL REASONS FOR THEM
3. Base the abilities off of canon profiles and use realistic power levels (I borrowed from Tracks for her alt-mode and Swoop for her sword)
4. NO "because she's a girl" in her bio AT ALL!
As for the fanon universe, Rally was actually made for my "Fractures" universe, but I decided to make her bio generic enough to cover all bases...that way I could play around with both canon TFs and others' OCs without too much fuss (I actually have a sketch of her lip-locking another dA artist's Airazor-clone that I may or may not finish up...hey, with all the TF boy-slash out there, why not throw a little yuri into the mix?)

Lol! Ahhh...I guess I don't look at too many OCs to see how many use Metalliakato-which I also use...haha. But it's something that isn't that hard to learn, just the higher forms of it are nuts to master, and I usually leave that to canon even in my "Cross" universe.
I consider a fanonverse a place where the rules can be bent, as long as they aren't so crazy ridiculous or can be explained in a manner that blends with what is set. With that said, it's why I don't really go crazy over Mary Sue anythings anymore (OcXCan is something I dabble in, but not in the REAL set canon. I'm a big loser, I know. I think if people can bend the canon with their slash/yuri/mpreg/insert other weird fan creations here-then anything is possible, I just won't look or try and judge unless someone shoves it in my face for some reason, which I highly doubt...but I could be wrong. DA is kinda...crazy at times, LOL. I think people can do their thing and if you get right down to it, even the canon characters can borderline/become "mary stu/gary stu" in terms to what some people have defined it as. Drift comes to mind, and I love him, but hey, i've seen what people have said about him...and the movie can be used for that too-how fan outcry gets so crazy. But hey, if that is what they want to downgrade into-just sad when they take it out on others likes. Fans anyway, but if you enjoy something then slag on them for trying to force that stuff on people anyway. Just my thoughts, i've seen far too much drama explode on DA over this sorta thing, and it's ridiculous to me. I guess it's my age, lol.
My characters interact with canon and vice versa, since everything in "Cross" is just basically me messing with, well, everything. If I wasn't such a putz, i'd try and doodle comics for it just to horrify the populous with my weird TF drawing skills and femmebots everywhere, because quite frankly, i'm not a fan of slash and yeah. I just like pretty, pretty femmebots, LOL. Can't say i'm super huge on yuri(though the idea crosses paths to just get some of the mechs going, hohoho), but I can stand it over slash, and i'm not bashing those that like it but, some people really get overly offended if you don't like it for some reason...I like to hide away from the fandom at large because of this, but that can be said for many fandoms in my opinion, anyway. LOL
I love the concept you have though, of making her bio generic enough so she can interact with a variety of other universes, canon and fanon. I usually break down a few things i've got going for my characters if I stick them in with other 'verses (I Rp very rarely anymore, and it's all most all ways TF now a days) - but as far as canon goes I just love it from a far and stick to fictional made up land to run rampant in. LOL
And wow, that was long and ridunkulous. My apologies on that! XD Take care!
