I believe you misunderstood my post. I wasn't entirely clear in it, but she doesn't really need to "overcome her hangups about men." Hate was not a word ever used in the comic. She said she's tired of. If I'm tired of egg salad, that doesn't mean I hate egg salad, there are just other things that are more appealing at the moment. I don't owe the egg salad priority consideration in everything I eat. Other people will eat it.
Okay I think I've used up this analogy. :3

Imma let y’all in on a little secret. Fair warning, though, some of you will disagree, and that’s fine.
No woman needs to get over any hang ups over men, fictional or IRL. Who they choose to date and hang out with is not up to you, me, or anyone else but themselves. They don’t owe anyone any sort of an explanation unless it explicitly involves them in certain situations, and even then, it’s still pretty optional.
And to everyone here getting irritated/angry/frustrated at women making blanket statement about how all men are evil, pigs, etc., allow me to let you in on another secret: They’re not always being serious about such statements, but I would invite you to take an introspective look at some blanket statements towards specific groups that you have made. Because regardless of whether they are being serious or not, if you think they’re specifically talking about you, they probably are.
Well done, Rick. Can’t wait for the next chapter.

In general you have a point, but the issue is that you forget a massive double standard present. If you change this to be about statements made towards women, (men don't owe to/choose to date women, or blanket statements) then suddenly that turns the whole comment into "MRA incel rant" or name it whatever you get the idea. Plus I wouldn't really applaud Rick for this comic, if he really wanted a lesbian romance comic he could've easily done it without aiming to demonize the few adult male characters that show up.
The double standard you speak of - if it exists - doesn't quite apply here because in order to be considered an 'MRA/Incel rant' as you say, there would have to be inherent misogyny/discrimination and/or derogatory comments towards women in such a statement. I made no such statements, as I merely said that women don't owe anyone anything in terms of who they will or will not date/seek romantic relationships with. You could easily write something similar about bisexual men not having to explain to women why they won't date them in a similar tone . The only thing that would turn it into an MRA/Incel rant would be the men complaining about how all women suck because they won't date them, and how men are being persecuted after they've experienced some perceived slight towards them.
As for applauding or not applauding Rick for the comic, that's your choice. But telling him how to write it is not. You don't like it, don't read it.

And any character consistancy has been erased with this page. From a victim of an abusive relationship she goes to saying how she "owes a date" to her supposed friend that's had the ulterior goal of getting into her pants. And people are cheering this as good? This feels like when people call 50 shades of Grey "romantic".
At least the kid was spot on with the last word.

You made this comic, you of all people should remember how the character works. The flashback to Wyatt showed why she doesn't like being given things because she suspects attached strings(remember how Li was given the murder eyes/beating when he was acting out of pure chairity with no secondary goal?), and now she is the one happily playing into that. Hilde's hidden motive remember? Hilde is getting what she wanted in the end. If this scenario would be done with a male character instead of Hilde you wouldn't be shrugging it off so easily as "just a date".
Jesus H Fucking Christ, it's blatantly obvious how much you hate this comic and it's characters. Why do you still read it? Or are you just trolling around to annoy people? All you've done for the last 12 pages is bitch and moan about how terrible the main characters are based on your skewed view of the world. I'm pretty damn sure Rick knows what he's doing with HIS comic. But that's the main point, now isn't it? Its RICK'S comic to do whatever he feels like, not yours. Not one single person has agreed with you and perhaps you should take a hint from that fact. If this comic is so terrible, go make your own. That way you can push your personal agendas to your little heart's desire.
Yes I did write the comic and I do remember how characters work. I wrote a big thing here about how the characters actually work, and that I feel that characters are allowed to have double standards without it being a total betrayal of self, but I deleted it because why should I have to explain my own comic again? It sounds like you'd be happier if you just never read any of my comics again
