This is Flick, a little, leafy, pixie-type creature that I adopted from
HoshiBerry . This particular species of pixie lives in dense forests and tend to have leaves and colours that match the plants around them. They are mischievous, tricksy little fellas that love harmless pranks that tend to leave people scratching their heads, having no idea about even the presence of the little creatures following them. They are generally benevolent, and will help those that get lost in the forest, but do not like to reveal themselves so tend to act behind-the-scenes. They are able to shrink and grow, from about the size of fully grown humans down to tiny, leaf-sized little pixies, and frequently have two or more towns matching different sizes that they like to be. This is very fluid to them and they can shift with little effort or thought. Their arm, leg, neck and sometimes face markings denote what tribe they belong to, and they have a very strong sense of community, always helping out each other. Hair, eyes and gems can match or be mismatched and can be any colour found in the forests, from flowers, fruits, berries and more. Their large eyes lend them strong night vision and they may be active at any hour, but they do tend to be diurnal. In their societies may trades exist and are generally performed by those with a great passion for them. Clothes vary greatly, from flamboyant and excessive flower shows to nearly nothing at all. Their skin is tough, but their leaves are more delicate. Their hand gems act as magic conduits, and magic tends to flow from them without learning, being more associated with their emotions and, especially, with play. Some may train it to better their craft, and it is known that they have incredible magical potential, though it is rarely seen as it is rarely needed, and quite often their control of their powers is limited. They may use it to powerful result in the
defence of their forest and their well-hidden towns, as needed. They do not take kindly to those that would harm the forest and its inhabitants, especially where it is not needed. Their towns are exceptionally rarely seen by outsiders, not out of snobbiness but from tradition, as well as to protect them. They are powerful, if chaotic, allies. Their battle strategies, in fact any plans at all, tend to be loose, as is their nature, but their group cohesion often makes up for it. Elders help to guide their villagers, but there do not tend to be leaders of them.
Flick is a girl, but as her culture puts little differentiation between the sexes she has not really felt any impact of this. In fact, she has felt as though she might have magically slipped between the sexes without meaning to before. She does not mind. She is a proud member of her tribe, which has a human-sized village that exists up, down, around and inside trees, being extremely vertical in nature in the incredibly tall oaks of her forest. Her second village is a shrunken one that sits in and amongst stones nearby a river and a LOT of toadstools. She loves both, but adventures in the forest more than most. She is closely related to the oldest village elder, who sees her difference and encourages it when she can. She feels like she would like to travel one day, extremely unusual for this species despite their longevity, and wants to ask travellers what it is like to do so. Maybe she will ask the next one who comes along. Who knows, maybe that next person will be you.
