Funny story about that, he sort of fell into the role.
I had a witch character who was a raccoon named Genesis ages ago. He was so similar to the protagonist from Persona 5 that I was like 'haha, what if I gave him the mask and changed his name to fit into the role?'
And so, Genesis became this fantastic boy! It's funny because both names have the same meaning of 'rebirth', which ties into their backstory of having to adapt a new lifestyle at a very young age. It's hilarious that I just have that type. LOL

Yeah, Rene (which had the same meaning as Genesis) just ended up lining up with Ren, so then the redesign came. : D
