I was cutting some red willow for reasons, when I heard the unique sound of scales going through the grass. I'm just glad that it was a garter snake, since I was literally standing right on top of it as they slithered between my boots. You can see the outline of my boot beside it, which is almost 1ft long, so this little guy was probably about 2.25 - 2.75 ft in length
