Dolivia R, The Everchalice Pitcher Plant
The Everchalice Pitcher Plant is a Pitcher Plant named by the later generations of Nagotaka. These plants are heavily evolved to look like rocks in some way shape or from in their environment, usually choosing to grow against them. Though sometimes easy to find in places such as against a rock or tree, The Everchalice is still one of the most powerful of pitcher plants in Dolivia to this day.
When attempting to catch a free meal, they burrow into the ground or flatten against a rock to appear as loose leaves and vines on the floor. Once their prey stands right over them, they scoop them up into their squishy innards and lock up with the leaf on their lip. This leaves are incredibly strong and are sometimes harvested for their high protein and soothing properties, though it is a rule made by the tribesmen of Dolivia to only harvest the leaves from the base of the plant, and not the lip, so that the Everchalice can still catch a meal or be used by Tribes. They do not digest meats or metals, and are said to release prey after 3-4 months.
Their insides secrete one of 2 kinds of liquids which interestingly enough are both the same liquid with only slight chemical change. They call this liquid, Godomine (Goh-Doh-Meen), and when secreted in its olive green state, is an adhesive that corrodes leathers, rock, and a small variety of other manufactured materials. When a meal is caught their bodies on the inside will expand to tightly seal around their prey after closing up, their stomach of course filling with this liquid in bulk while excess is secreted to render their meals unarmed and harmless.
The second state of Godomine, its orange state, is both an adhesive, and a tranquilizer component, keeping prey coated with it unable to move, less aggressive, and sticky. The insides, also become much more squishy like a bag full of honey. Nagotakan scientists do not know if this is a form of Honey used to attract prey as it has no scent, but find it incredibly helpful when packed into small bombs.
Because of its incredibly useful biproducts, the Everchalice has been adapted by a variety of tribes as the "Prison Plant", grown for both collecting Godomine and punishing criminals by shoving one into it. The Criminals, because of how this plant works, are not digested, but are instead sealed away within them for an indefinite amount of time. If the prisoner does not finish their sentence, they are put into another one, and when a prisoner is released early, a certain berry is crushed between a tribesman's fingers and smudged around the lip, causing the plant to open and relax its interior.
The name Everchalice was given to this plant after a Male Nagotaka was lost in a patch of them devoured whole by 3, and was forced to endure being sloshed and squished around for a total of 11 months. In his words he described the time he experienced as, "lasting forever".
