I recently realized a strange skill imbalance of mine. Spinning around giant fireballs on chains in complex patterns while dancing: not a problem; minimum risk of burning to death. On the other hand, cooking is a major fire hazard.

I should really consider offering courses for furries and students (small budget, needs to be fastly done ;) ) to learn how to cook via webcam again. - Well, I just burnt food when I forgot I had something on the oven while RPing ^^"" - therefore that one's typical and well-known with all my friends at the RPG I'm playing. :D
Did I ever tell you about the time Keith and I tried to make fireworks? Now, I didn't know nothin' about chemistry, but Keith figured gasoline burns, right? Well, Keith ended up with third degree burns over ninety-five percent of his body. The next town over called to complain about the smell of burning skin.
Setting a pot of boiling water on fire is a pretty good claim, I gotta give you some faildom points on that one, but I can safely bet you didn't do it a second time immediately after correct? Its more a failure of unforseen consequences rather than a complete and utter lack of awareness to what the heck you just started 20 minutes ago.
Haha, no. Only once, thankfully. Although I HAVE forgotten stuff because I was playing the piano or poi-spinning or something while waiting for something to cook, so I'm probably very similar to your roommates in that respect. Those beeping timers are a godsent, though. Haven't made that mistake in a while now. :)
You could always do a Banana's Foster or any other flaming dish, so when it catches on fire, you can tell them it's supposed to...
...course once they realize it's been on fire for 10 min and that the fire has spread to other parts of the kitchen, they might start yelling at you xD
