If you could find actual individual rubbles pieces you can animate those.
Otherwise, I think you might need some collision/weight physics which can be a bit complex to learn.
If you would go for way #1 I would say, to put some smoke to hide the castle walls, and then also elevating the camera quickly so the castle walls that would stay behind would be hidden. After that it would be some personnal touches with the angles.
