Uh, you got battle rewards mixed up. The "frontier" badges you are thinking of are not badges , and don't help you with Pokemon obediance. Those are in the Battle Frontier, which is in Kanto in the anime, an island in pokemon Platinum, an island in Pokemon Emerald (I think), and I think in a blocked off area in Johto in Heart Gold and Soul Silver. The one in the anime is based on the version of the Battle Frontier found in Pokemon Emerald, with the location in a different place than the game it's from, but the battle facilities are identical to the game, and the only one you get badge-like rewards from. Pokemon Platinum's version of the Battle Frontier doesn't give badge-like rewards. Instead, you get Silver and Gold Prints as rewards. Silver for beating the Frontier Brain of that facility's first team, and a Gold Print if you beat their second team, which requires a higher win streak than the first team to gain the right to battle their team once. Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver's version is a near identical copy Platinum's version, except with the location difference and you don't get your own house that you get rewards for getting each print.
