XCOM 2 is something to be enjoyed. Well, if You are Mass Effect fan like me (a shit ton of mods for WOTC). Sometimes the accuracy is... frustrating (100% acc and still miss the enemy) and the missions are from time to time hard as well. But if you ever played Fallout I/II, you get the idea. A lot of mods are in the workshop (Mass Effect, Warhammer, etc.). I guess you should try it. beginning with the good XCOM Enemy Unknown to get the plot. Then move to XCOM 2 Vanilla and if you wanna experience a whole new XCOM 2 - play WOTC DLC. A lot of missions, a lot of classes and much more to do there.
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is another good one. From the 1950s with You playing as the agent from 3rd person. (haven't played it yet but I will).
These "sneks" and the art is cute tho. But in the game, they are fuckers.

Her final was pretty weak, but tongue pull + Bind for 5 damage across the room, stealing enemy turns, the SMG special for 100% hit in her LoS, tossing a frag / plasma + Toxic Greeting, and Acid Spit all make for a stupidly good offensive utility kit! Oh, and yoinking friends out of imminent danger is helpful too. Best squadmember.
Xcom 2 is on sale but not for much longer! The base game is worth only $19.99 CDN for only about 9 hours left, but the bundle pack is on for just $37.49! There's no countdown timer for the bundle so I don't know how much longer it's going to be that way, possibly about 9 hours as well, but if you've been waiting to buy it, now's the moment!
