You may have inadvertently helped solve a design problem I was having with armor for my character Kathy, Mapper.
When I drew Sandy in ceremonial armor, the sword fighting nerds in the audience pointed out that separate cups for the breasts would send a sword thrust right into the cleavage. Your character probably won't be swordfighting, though...
I also need to make the armor flexible. A solid chest plate would be difficult to maneuver while wearing.
And of course, it needs to be simple enough to draw many times!
It's amazing how fundamentally useless the vast majority of fantasy armor really is--no one would realistically be able to fight in it, and all the bare patches over bellies, breasts, and backs are easy targets.

LOL fantasy armor tends to have the ability to distract. Look at Red Sonja . It could be made that way for certain fighting style.. One will seek out a weakness and exploit it. If you intentionally design the weakness, then you have already planned for a defense and counter attack..
Makes for a good excuse Anyhow Glad I inadvertently helped ya
