Didn't get much done today, so while waiting on some things, I decided on doing a study, to at least move the hand.
Mused on Oren's Forge again. Those who read the comic might guess what I was thinking of here ...
(and before you say anything; yes, bronze or copper are not exactly the best materials to put in your mouth, but it's not like anyone in that universe is gonna know that - just like I don't know what the bottom half of implanted teeth look like (and I don't feel the need to go looking either))
*no, I don't have it any larger. This is native resolution.

Oh, yeah! New teeth for Egg! What a lovely concept. Knowing you're a fan of 'Oren's Forge', I understood the setting straight away. You've produced a gorgeous tribute here.
By my understanding, there is now a trio of 'serious' works that really dig into what predator-prey relations in an anthro world might actually look like. There is Beastars. There is Oren's Forge. And there is, of course, Forest Tails. With these three, it feels like the fandom has reached a kind of maturity. All three of these works go far beyond anything that Zootopia dared to tackle.

Fairly certain this isn't going to happen in the actual story, but I thought it was a cute idea X3
I'm flattered you would count my little pet project among the high ranking ones, although unlike Oren's Forge and Forest Tails, I 'm not sure Beastars originates from within the fandom. As much as we might hope for a little more ... in-depth look at the true discrepancies in pred/prey interactions in a society, I've come to realize that Zootopia fell short of that by way of it's own agenda and it's therefore unlikely we'll ever get that particular itch scratched by the (now) Series.

Quite apart from their need to keep a child-friendly rating, I seriously doubt that Disney would ever go near the subject matter of sentient animals killing and eating other sentient animals. Altogether too close to the bone (hah!) for that studio; after all, it's profoundly disturbing subject matter, whatever one's age or perspective.
I honestly don't know if Itagaki Paru was inspired by, or even aware of, the furry fandom when she came up with Beastars. But whether by accident or design, the manga possesses an uncanny alignment to the strange and wonderful subculture that we call home!
