Okay Im gonna be honest here. I love Pokemon and as such Borealis Exists because of that but i couldn't play the games beyond causal and certainly i couldn't be competitive no matter how hard i tried. However with Yugioh i have found a true hobby that i can pour all of my time into. As such i made it nationals in Fort Worth TX and have topped many regional tournaments in Canada. In honor of this hobby i love so much i had Maru draw this for me, my PokeSona Borealis with a duel disk. The Dueling Dragonite! now i haven't played competitive beyond locals and the odd UDS tournament since i have made it to the later years of my University education, so im a little rusty with the meta, so if you chalenge me thinking im some hot shot that need cooling dont worry i know im not unbeatable but topping for two months with Dark Magicians during Zoodiac Format (when they were still untouched by the ban list) i think is worth being proud of lol.

I love MR5, it’s like a breath of fresh air compared to MR4, I will admit that zoodiac is very oppressive as a deck but not as bad as true Draco in hindsight. That deck completely undermines the very nature of tribute summons as a slow and clunky yet powerful mechanic if done correctly due to flood gates and card of demise but In dracos case everything benifits them. They can use flood gates and demise, all of their monsters give pluses just for opponents trying to play, if the opponent tries to break the board then no prob you have a call of the haunted and all your back row punishes your opponent for trying to get rid of it. This punishment is also a good offence when you tribute your back row for Any of your monstered triggering the effects anyway and if that isnt enough you have access to a soft once per turn field spell search that can add the most oppressive boss monster that even makes towers seem fair. A card that is unaffected by what you tribute for it, with quick effect pop and body nearly 3000 atk. If it sounds like I’m ranting I’m sorry but it’s because I am. That deck and it’s boss monster “master peace” nearly got me to quit Yu-Gi-Oh. But I am still here today and that card is not as it is banned. And good riddance to it lol.
My only regret from the more recent ban lists is that in order to finally cripple true Draco for good I had to lose card of demise from my yosenju deck. But it’s a small price to pay to never see that deck again. In brighter news I have been super excited to play madolche again. The new support is almost exactly what I needed all I’m still hoping for is a rank three. But then again aren’t we all
Oh no I completely agree lol. Both Zoodiacs and True Dracos are AWFUL to see, especially when they were together. I have never seen a more lazy attempt to make tributes work than dracos for sure. Might as well special summon 5 times a turn AND have access to absurd backrow/floodgates with free removal.
Madolches will always be a fan favorite for sure. Really happy to some reprints since they were getting really expensive.
