Painting I made to answer the (non-existent) question on why both Sogno and Incubo are not represented by the sun and the moon like Sköll and Hati: Because death itself can manifest at any hour or age, no matter what. The wolves are mostly a "key" for the purgatory, with Sogno helping good souls and Incubo destroying bad souls, according to the lore. In reality, both wolves are both helping and destructive, just that Sogno is easier to spot than Incubo.
