I am posting a second picture this weekend because of some unfortunate news. Roy Horn died from Covirus the 8th of this month, as I learnt from
Skia yesterday.
I never watched any of the spectacular shows he set with his Partner Siegfried Fischbacher, but it was almost as if he was a long-time acquaintance to me thanks to the Father of the Pride mini-serie I liked so much.
Godspeed, Roy.

Wow really? And yet they put that "Tiger King" on Netflix?
Shame Siegfried must be heartbroken.
On a much less seriouse note, I guess there is now NO CHANCE we'll ever get a FOTP season 2 now.
Oh well.
Maybe an anthro series about the tigers and lions from The Tiger King? XD
Can you imagine?

Yes, it's because there has been a lot of abuse and maltreatment everywhere in the world - and I say EVERYWHERE - plus with wild animals who need a lot of space and often complex solcial life, it's always hard to believe they are fully happy even when they are loved by their tamer and seem to do the same in return.
We never think about that but it's even worse with cetaceans about which we know since not a long time they communicate with others HUNDREDS OF MILES away. Can you imagine being in an alien zoo with loving guardians, certainly, but also with a telephone and an internet line, sending messages to your fellow comrades that do not cross past the walls of your golden prison, and waiting for answers you will never receive?
I wasn't aware about that Netflix show (I don't have TV - totally by choice), seems quite interesting but not destined to me, I already despise too much humankind to be reminded about its glorious deeds.

As I said in the description, it was
Skia who did the first one as far as I know, one day before me, and that's how I have been aware of what happened. You should see his own tribute, it's simple but beautiful and a lot more powerful the way it is to convey its message...

On my first ever "Away from home" visit to Las Vegas, I got up earlier in the morning than usual, and decided to explore the strip just as the city was opening for business. Somehow I ended up at the Mirage hotel/casino, and I had the then "Zoo" attraction nearly all to myself. I watched the white tigers in their glass enclosure for a bit, and leisurely cruised the gift shop. On a HUGE projection screen there was a video of Roy interacting with a Tigress which seemed to trust the Man fully. I never got to see one of the Siegfried and Roy big cat shows ever, but on following visits to Las Vegas and the Strip through the years, I saw how the 2 performers and their big cats had become an icon of the Entertainment venues of that City. I still feel a twinge of nostalgia whenever I see my "Father of the pride" DVD sitting on the shelf. I appreciated seeing "Hunter" in genuine tears of grief as if he realizes things will never be the same.
These are souvenirs you'll certainly eternally cherish - you made a lot of trips I see, that's a thing I should think about more myself. That's how you realize years later you've been in a certain place at a certain time and went close to something special, like what you tell here.
