Leander was born being able to use a rare form of earth manipulation magic called metal morphing which shows as a mutation in the eyes forming a red ring around the iris's.
Leander ran away from home in his mid teens when word got out about his ability, his parents being simple farmers in the country he choose to distance himself from them so he wouldnt be a burdon on them from the people chasing after him.
he heard that the king would be choosing a new guard within the next 5 years so he chose this time to train himself. he became well known enough throughout the zephyr country in this time that the king invited him to join the combat selection.
his aptitude for metal and fire magic helped him get to the final fight against a lion which he would eventually win and become the first feline royal guard
