This was originally going to be a 6 to 7 part chapter. However, due to the amount of text used for this chapter alone and the limit of text that is applied in the description area, this chapter may be divided into 8 parts. Again, I do apologize for how lengthy it is, but I still really feel that this was necessary to show what Gavin and everyone who was in Daybreak Town had gone through. But even with all of this, I do hope you enjoy reading this chapter.

Wow,... this is a truly intense sequence of memories,... that final battle, watching his friends be killed around him, while wielding his own hybrid keyblade proton pack to devastating effect, then to fall himself, quite spectacularly. I think it's a great touch to see the effect the kind of particle beam weapon like a proton pack with have on a living target, and more so what happens when such a weapon, essentially a small nuclear reactor and accelerator, gets damaged. That had to hurt,...
They knew that the war was inevitable. But that didn't mean that they were just going to bend over and just die. As for the proton pack, I'm pretty sure Gavin didn't feel any pain, due to him basically being vaporized by the explosion if anything. But that doesn't mean it's still a sad way to go. But this just leaves one question. What was Oliver talking about when it came to their meeting the night before the war?
Hmm,.... environmental temperature only really affects it if you within the tens of thousands of degrees or hotter,... in this case that wouldn't have much effect, the main factor would be how much power was currently active in the system when it exploded. Like if it had just discharged alot of energy and needed to cycle back up, the blast would be smaller, if it had just finished cycling and had alot of energy ready to use, potentially alot bigger.
