Only a handful of places still exist and serve people food in a restraunt environment in the wasteland. The Golden Star in Carbon, the Cattleman's steakhouse in fort worth, the Piney Palace in Nacogdoches if you can even get invited to the town... but one stood out even more. You don't just get a seat there, nor can you ask to make a reservation. Generals, officers, and soldiers of merit of the Enclave and the Texas Govt ate there in a rare truce zone, and even then only by the highest allowance of their soldiers. Yet somehow, Church pulled strings and got a table for two. A "mercenary" to anyone who asked being given a table with a gunslinger who was beginning to spread a bit of a legend in his wake. Generals and officers fraternizing with Church as if they had always known him as he told them of the ruby dressed woman's deadeye accuracy that put his to shame at range. Smiles. warm talks, chilled champagne... whisper hadn't even ordered her food yet and already felt out of her league.

Yet somehow, wearing her red silk dress Church had bartered for a week to get her, she felt like a red shining ruby in the center of a golden crown. A cool sip from her tall glass was all she could do to hide a smile and keep her razor sharp exterior. If he wasn't so honest she'd think he'd done this on purpose, to make her feel special.
