you can update the source file and it tricks the system, that way you actually get much bigger files onto fa...if I understood the problem right

I kind of hate how large images look when you use that to bypass it. I like websites that have a smaller but non compressed preview that enlarges when clicked

You know you can just upload more then 1280? Its still work even if its over 1280

I did a test whit a 1500 x 2546 image and I dont see any problem(I dont see any artifacts or compression blurness), just click on download to view it better?

It's entirely a convenience thing, it takes less effort to upload a resized image at 1280 than to reupload it to bypass the limit or have people use download to view it uncompressed if that's true

Idk i just don't see the point resizing them lower if higher rez work atlest, I don't see those artifact and the download function works its shows a png files, so its up to you if you want to keep on resizing them
