So, it's something a little different from the usual stuff, but I'm literally backloading anything I've missed here so far. First of which being one of my absolute most favorite D&D characters I've made.
Anastasia den Balaar, monster slayer. Of a family that lives on the sword coast, she lives in a family known for their arcane and martial prowess for hunting beasts. Traditionally among the family, heirs to the family name with an aptitude for the arcane are brought forward when they come of age to their family's legacy and hidden power. A weapon that is said to house the heroic soul of a monster slayer of another world, and through pacts continues its fight against the unholy that would disrupt the common man. Bellephrontes, slayer of beasts would like to make a pact.
And so, Anastasia as their heir to the family's name, made a pact, and like many before her, became a hexblade. This particular move allowed for more diversity in approaching the fight, learning to track. Learning to hunt. The ways of the ranger from a journal she received, before being sent to a mercenary corps to hone her skills.
This led her dysfunctional group through adventures, and eventually to the land of Ravenloft. Trapped by Strahd for his own entertainment, Anastasia and crew quickly became a thorn in the count's side. One he just could not seem to stamp down for good. Their powers grew, and one fateful encounter with some revenant's brought to her a magic claymore. Hexblade magic nonsense. Ha ha.
Long story short: After months of being trapped in Ravenloft, Anastasia drove a stake through Strahd's heart and won her freedom with her compatriots.
