>>Bio/backstory
>>The Dreaming<<
Quija was made in an underground lab owned by the Collective, a science driven government who had recently lost a costly war that made the surface of their territory uninhabitable. At the time, the Collective had exhausted all recruitment options for reclaiming the world above. From conscripting hobos to sending inmates on high risk missions. The Collective found large success in training orphans from the war into elite units but after losing about half that group, the collective needed a way to protect those orphans now adults. So they turned to creating soldiers from scratch.
Quija and those like her are referred to as Lab Born. Their DNA made up of many donors from both soldiers and the civilians in the bunkers. Great care was taken into making her kind be excellent at combat with all the beneficial genes on hand. The whole process of getting an egg from nothing is a government kept secret but once a Lab Born egg is made, the process of hatching and training them begins.
The eggs hatch like normal but then the hatchling is quickly hooked up to a machine that provides them with oxygen and then they are suspended tank full of strange liquid. With a specialized helmet, Lab Born have their minds tricked in a way to believe they are awake when really they are in a lucid dream state. Where they would experience growing up, then trained mentally for military duty.
Quija's childhood is hardly unique from the other Lab Born in her batch. The cookie cutter life of the simulation had her grow up as an only child of a mother and father. The most unique thing about that however were her "father", she could never truly 'see' her mothers face but she knew in great detail what her father looked like. A bond grew but in reality, the bond was meant to ensure that she'd fight and die for the Collective.
Quija lived her teen years in the dream but always suspecting something was wrong, she never understood why she never slept. Never got tired. When she would try to sleep, she'd 'dream' she was underwater, shapes in the distance but blurry and sounds too muffled to hear. She'd grow up knowing that somehow what she was seeing wasn't what it seemed. However her mind immediately focused on the military training she was receiving.
Quija would be trained by 'day' and start to have horrible 'nightmares' where she was in intense battles. Living in a loop of training and fighting until one day she found herself in the middle of a lake, on the water's surface before something pulled her down.
>>Waking up<<
Quija found herself dragged out of the water, in a strange sterile looking room with many others. Wet, weak, and cold. A large screen on one end of the room informed her and all her fellows what was going on.
Apparently, she and her fellow lab born had been living in a simulation for 6 years but what they experienced felt like 18 to 21 years. Those they had spent as teens till now having trained them mentally for combat. All the while the strange fluid they were suspended in had aged them to be 19 to 21 years biologically. Close to their prime but they weren't at their peak. Physically their strength and prowess was average, however that could be improved with the right people and training.
Then she saw him, the one from her dreams. Her 'father' with several others. The letters OTP printed on the back of their armored vests and the armbands. "Orphan Training Program" Quija wasn't sure how she knew this acronym but she and the others felt a need to protect them, to serve, to impress these individuals. To fight and die for them and by proxy, the Collective.
----Summary (short version)----
>Quija was made to protect members of the OTP Unit, specifically her 'father' the parental bond of father and daughter was purposely made to ensure loyalty to the Collective by Proxy.
>Most if not all of Quija's memories before true military life have been her training in the dream/simulation.
----
Personality: Originally, Quija was naive to a fault and compassionate, this often led her to trusting others, especially authority figures far too much. Her father, however taught her to be wise with who she trusts and to stand up for herself. She's still naive a bit, still compassionate and can be a little sassy at times.
--Relationships--
Her father, Hex: Quija at first was unsure of how to feel about Hex. Aware that the bond she experienced in the dream was a way to ensure loyalty. She couldn't betray him even if she tried, which made her nervous around him at first not knowing his intentions. Through time spent together she came to truly regard him as a father to her. He's part of her family and she'll protect that family at all costs.
Hex belongs to
HextheSnek
Vera: Vera is a mother figure to Quija and probably where Quija got a bit of her attitude from. Much of Quija's experience in survival come from various trips she took with Vera on the surface. Quija knows that while the feeling to protect Vera isn't as strong as the feeling to protect Hex, she would still do so out of care and passion for Vera.
Other Lab born: Quija generally regards other lab born as siblings in a way but each one varies between close siblings and distant siblings, depending on how they treat Quija. Quija does have a few that she truly refers to as "brother" and "sister". Even if one has treated her badly she will still attempt to help them, grudgingly.
--Combat--
Quija was originally meant to be a combat medic, helping assist her father in patching up wounded and protecting them. However with further training from him and Vera, Quija is a cross between a gunslinger and heavy weapons expert. Favoring grenade launchers, various pistols, sub-machine guns, and light machine guns. (Just think of action movies like Rambo, as well as Westerns.)
Up close however, Quija is somewhat lacking with hand-to-hand combat, her saving grace being her venomous bite and ability to constrict but that only goes so far. She has power but no form.

(I'll probably edit and add on to this. Just needed to get some info on Quija finally.)
