In honor of Betrothed's upcoming 10th anniversary, I thought I'd celebrate. ^^ (Also... HOW has it been that long?! HOW?!) :O
And I'm starting with updating as many of the character refs as I can! :D Here is the Queen of the Pridelands and mother to Mufasa and Taka.

No one tells Uru what to do. Everyone who meets her learns this right away. Headstrong and cocky as a cub, she doesn't take the news of her betrothal to Prince Ahadi very well at all. At first amused, and then upset, Uru confides in her mother to learn why she can't choose her husband. Uru's mother, Zawati, explains that Uru and Ahadi's betrothal was a mutual pact made between their prides to bring peace and finally end a long and bloody war, the War of Lions. This knowledge weighs heavy on Uru's young mind and later distills into bitterness toward Ahadi, whom she only ever views only as a friend, after she grows up.
Putting her own feelings aside for, as she sees it, the good and honor of the royal pride and her own family, Uru goes ahead with the wedding and allows herself to become Ahadi's wife and future queen. The day is a sad occasion for Uru. Her happiness is restored when she and Ahadi are blessed with a son, named Mufasa, but it would be more than a year after their wedding before Uru would know true love and once again taste the adventure and excitement she always craved as a cub.
