Though in a different performance style, this choice of this piece was inspired by a personal idol of mine, Isabelle Chassé and her Aerial Silks in Cirque du soleil... It is said that the color of the silk represents passion, and love, and we are hanging onto it. We fall down at one point, but we don't let go. The climbs back up is, sometimes, all we have. The mother has long ago let go. And she realizes how she used to be, if only she didn't let go of the passion. For the red of passion stains us, and yet it contrasts us, giving shape so much as it does induce our craving. And if the red of passion is within me, then I'll tie it alongside me, and let it show in my motions.
