CHAPTER 1: The Beginning
Once upon a time, way before humans, (and pets), there was a valley called "The Northern Valley" where all herbivorous and carnivorous dinosaurs lived. All the time, there were lots dinosaurs who mate, and then have babies. Sometimes there'll be so much fighting between a carnivore and a herbivore dinosaur. The one that defeated the Gigantosaurus.
One day in the Northern Valley, two Lambeosaurus adults were sleeping in their nest, when one Lambeosaurus named Liliana, felt something moving.
"Leonard!" She cried. "It's time!"
Leonard sees the egg moving by itself.
"Oh my gosh!" He said. "It is! Stand by, Liliana! It's coming!"
The egg jumped up, and down, and repeated, until the egg cracked, and then, out came a Lambeosaurus hatchling!
"Aww!" Liliana said. "It's so beautiful, isn't it, Leonard?"
"Of course, dear," agreed Leonard. "Since you're the mother, what name should you give her?"
Liliana pondered. "Hmm... I think... Lana."
"Lana? Named after your childhood friend?"
Liliana was silent, and was so sad, she nearly cried.
"What's wrong?" Asked Leonard.
But before Liliana could say something, they both heard a loud roar. It startled both of Lana's parents.
"It's Clawback!" Cried Leonard.
And it was. Clawback is an evil Allosaurus, who always tried to attack all herbivorous dinosaurs. Both Liliana and Leonard screamed as they saw him coming.
"Quick!" Cried Leonard. "Protect your daughter!" And he handed the hatchling to the mother, and they all ran together out of their home. Clawback completely destroyed the nest, and he ran towards the forest.
Where are they? He said in Allosaurus language. When I find them, they'll be my lunch!
Meanwhile, The Lambeosaurus family stopped, and rest in a cave. Both of the parents were worried.
"What if Clawback comes back here?!" Sobbed Liliana. "And destroys the cave that we're in?!"
"Take it easy, Liliana," comforted Leonard. "There's nothing to be worried about."
Then, they saw an empty straw nest. They looked at each other, then they placed their daughter Lana on the nest. Besides, she was asleep all this time.
"Let's try to keep our daughter from being taken," considered Leonard.
"Yes, let's," agreed Liliana, and they went to sleep in the cave.
CHAPTER 2: Meeting Candi
A few years went by, for at last, Lana was 10 year old. Her parents were having a good time with her daughter.
"Lana?" Asked her mother, "Would you be a good daughter and grab some leaves for us to eat?"
"Yes, mother," replied Lana, as she went to a bush.
Lana had never been asked to get something for her, but since she's her mother, she has to do what she says. Then, as Lana was taking some leaves, she spotted a tail from a dinosaur she'd never seen.
"Mom!" Yelled Lana. "Look what I've find!"
Her parents came running to their daughter.
"Are you okay?" Said her mother worriedly.
"I'm fine, mother," said Lana. "But look."
Just then, Lana jumped when the tail moved. Then, it disappeared. Lana walked slowly back to her mother.
"I hope it's not a monster," said Lana worriedly.
"It's okay, honey," said her father.
Just then, by surprise, a dinosaur quickly came out from the bush, and the young Lambeosaurus jumped.
"Monster!" She yelled.
The dinosaur was actually a Corythosaurus, but Lana didn't know it yet. The Corythosaurus looked left to right.
"What monster?" It said.
"Uh, well.." shuddered Lana, trying to get her words. "Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were a monster." And she went red with embarrassment.
Then Lana's father spoke up.
"What are you doing all alone?"
"I'm not alone," said the young Corythosaurus. "My parents are over there."
And she pointed to her parents, Thora and Samuel.
"Hello, Thora," said Liliana, and she and her husband walked over to the Corythosaurus family.
"It's a pleasure to meet you," introduced Lana. "I'm Lana. And who are you?"
"My name is Candi," introduced the Corythosaurus. "Can you guess what species I am?"
Lana pondered.
"I'll have to say that you're a... Corythosaurus?"
"That's right!" Agreed Candi, and she grabbed some of the leaves, and started chomping them. Lana was surprised. She didn't know that Candi can eat some leaves at just one big bite.
"Whoa, I didn't know you could eat like that!" She exclaimed.
"Well, it's just a habit I have since I was hatched," responded Candi.
"Hmm, that's interesting," said Lana.
Just then, their parents came back.
"Come on," said Candi's parents. "Time to go home!"
"Sorry, Lana," said Candi. "My parents are calling me home."
"That's okay," replied Lana. "Bye, Candi!"
"Bye, Lana!" And Lana watched the Corythosaurus family walked away home.
"Well, she's so nice," said Lana to her parents, and she smiled to them.
CHAPTER 3: Trouble for Lana
A week later, Lana and her parents were walking back to their cave. As they were almost there to their home, Lana tripped on a large footprint.
"Lana!" Yelled her mother. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," said Lana, as she got out from the footprint.
It was a slighty large footprint in the shape of an Allosaurus. Lana's parents looked at each other.
"It's Clawback's footprint," whispered Liliana.
"What?" Asked Lana, who was confused.
Her parents took her back to the cave. Lana was still confused. She didn't know what was going on.
"Who is this Clawback?" Lana asked.
"Clawback," began her mother, "is one of the carnivorous dinosaurs of all in the Prehistoric Valley. When he was a hatchling, his parents were killed in a earthquake. Luckily he survived, so he went off alone in the forest."
"Oh dear!" Said Lana, who was a little frightened. "Alone? In the forest?"
"Absolutely," her mother responded. And she went on.
"One day, he spotted a Triceratops, and sneaked behind it, and gave out a huge bite on its tail with his very sharp teeth. Blood was everywhere on the grass. But the little Allosaurus didn't care. He just loves doing that. And as the years went by, when he got older, and older, and older, until he was a professional carnivore killer. And now he's trying to ambush all the other dinosaurs. And that's how he was a killer," finished her mother.
"Wow," said Lana. "I hope he doesn't come now."
Lana spoke too soon, as they heard a loud stomping noise, along with a loud roar.
"Oh no!" Cried her mother. "Clawback!"
Lana's parent went further deeper in the cave, but Lana went closer outside the cave.
"Lana!" Ordered her mother. "Come back here!"
But it was no good. Lana was too close to see Clawback charging towards her. Her parents closed their eyes as tight as they can. But thinking quickly, Lana ran to the right away from the Allosaurus.
"Lana!" Sobbed Liliana. "Come back!"
But it was too late. Lana was already gone. Her mother was crying so much, it made Clawback hearing it.
"Quiet!" Yelled Leonard. "He'll hear us! Please stop crying!"
But luckily, Clawback, who still heard Liliana's crying tone, walked away angrily away.
Liliana sniffed. She was glad that Clawback was gone, but she wasn't because Lana was gone.
Meanwhile, Lana was still running away from Clawback.
"Hah!" She exclaimed. "That silly dinosaur won't catch me now!"
She looked back, and Clawback wasn't there.
"Oh well," protested Lana. "He's hiding somewhere so he can ambush me. I'll show him!"
Then there was trouble. Lana was running so fast, she didn't see some bushes up ahead, until it was too late.
"Uh oh!" Cried Lana, who was trying to stop, but the wet grass made it slippery. She slid all the way and went through the bushes, and fell off a waterfall, screaming. With a splash, she went into the water. Lana tried to swim away, but the river rushed her faster.
"Help!" Yelled Lana. "Mama! Papa!" But no one heard her. Lana went on screaming, until her words began murmuring, and with one more yell, she passed out.
CHAPTER 4: The Longnecked Dinosaurs
The next morning, the river took Lana to land on the other side of the Northern Valley. She couldn't move at all. Then, two dinosaurs came from of her. The creatures were actually a Diplodocus and a Brachiosaurus.
"Is she alive?" asked the Brachiosaurus.
"Yeah, he's breathing," replied the Diplodocus. "Let's wait for her to wake up."
Lana slowly open her eyes, then sees some dinosaur feet. It was at that moment that it was a Brachiosaurus and a Diplodocus. Lana's jaw dropped, and screamed. It startled the other two dinosaurs. Then Lana covered her face, and went red with embarrassment.
"Oh my," said Lana. "I'm very sorry. I thought you were killer dinosaurs.
"Which dinosaur killers?" Asked the young Brachiosaurus.
"Well," said Lana, trying to remember. "I forgot what the Allosaurus named is. Maybe it was..."
But before Lana could say anything else, the Diplodocus interrupted.
"Uh, excuse me," he said. "Who are you?"
"I'm Lana," said Lana. "And who are you guys?"
"I'm Danny, and this is my adopted brother, Brandon," introduced the Diplodocus. "Welcome to the Prehistoric Valley! The valley where only herbivorous dinosaurs could visit."
"The Prehistoric Valley?" Lana said, who was a little bit confused.
"That's right!" Agreed Danny. "Hey, by the way, here's something that said that she'll your friend."
Danny pointed at Candi, who was happy to see Lana.
"Lana!" She cried excitedly, as she ran to Lana and hugged her. "I'm so glad you're okay!"
"I am, indeed," said Lana, who was relieved to see her friend.
"Hey, Lana, can you keep a secret?"
"Well, if it's not something so bad," said Lana.
Brandon went closer to Lana's ear.
"I was alone in the forest till you arrived."
"That's what your secret is?!" Exclaimed Lana.
"Geez!" complained Brandon. "You don't have to be mean to my brother. I love girls, but not girl who are too feisty and rude!"
Lana was shocked.
"Sorry," she said, who rubbed her cheek. "I just couldn't get up when I first met you two."
The conversation didn't last long, until someone's voice came out.
"Danny! Brandon! Come on now!"
"Mom, Dad, wait! There's someone else with us!" Yelled Danny.
Their parents were Diplodocuses, and they came towards to the kids.
"Whoa!" Said Candi. "They're so huge!" And she ran behind Danny.
"Calm down, Candi," said Brandon. "My parents are nice. I'll introduce them to you two."
Deanna and Don are Danny and Brandon's parents. They stopped, and Deanna looked at both Candi and Lana.
"I hope she won't hurt us," said Candi worriedly.
"I've told you," said Brandon. "My parents are nice. Won't you learn?"
Deanna then smiled, and said, "Why hello there young ones."
"Who are your new friends?" Asked Don, Danny and Brandon's dad.
"These two are Conni and Lina," said Danny, who said their names wrong.
"I'm Lana, and this is my friend Candi," corrected Lana.
"Would you like to play with us?" Asked Brandon.
"Well, okay," answered Lana. "How about you, Candi?"
"No thanks," answered Candi, as her stomach growled.
She turned to the female Diplodocus.
"Got anything to eat?" She asked.
Deanna laughed a little and said, "Yes. Want some leaves?"
"Oh yeah! My favorite!" Yelled Candi happily.
The rest went to play in the open forest.
CHAPTER 5: Orina & Patty
Lana, Danny and Brandon went walking towards the open forest called "The Fun Forest".
"What games should we play?" Asked Lana.
"But first," announced Danny, "We have to wait for Orina, Patty, and Bella."
"Who are they?" Asked Lana.
"You'll see," protested Brandon.
Then, Lana saw something moved from one of the bushes. She froze, and pointed to the bushes.
"Wha - what was that?" Lana said, who was shaking a little.
But the creature was only a Oviraptor. She blushed and rubbed her cheek.
"I'm sorry I'm late to play," said the Oviraptor. "I had to wait till my mother finished her leaves for lunch."
Lana looked at the Oviraptor.
"Oh!" She said. "I thought she was a carnivorous dinosaur or something else."
The Oviraptor's eyes widened and walked to Lana.
"I'm not a monster," said the Oviraptor kindly. "I'm only a Oviraptor. My name is Orina. And you?"
Lana was too shy to say anything, but she managed to get her words out.
"I'm Anna... I mean... I'm Lana," she said, who struggles to get her name right.
"Orina is very nice," said Danny. "And by the way, where's Patty?"
Just then, a shadow figure came flying above them. It was a Pteranodon. It landed on top of Lana's crest. Lana was startled.
"Aaahhh!" She screamed. "Something's on me! Get it off of me!"
Lana's scream startled the Pteranodon, too.
"Daahhh!" She cried.
They kept on screaming, until...
"Quiet!" Shouted Orina. Everything was silent.
"I forgot to mention," explained Danny, "that whenever one of us is arguing, he yell "quiet!" That way, we can stop arguing."
"I see," said Lana. She then turned to the Pteranodon.
"I'm sorry I've scared you."
"That's okay," said the young Pteranodon. "Sometimes I'm a bit panicky."
"Who's this little Pteranodon, anyways?" Asked Lana.
"This is Patty," announced Danny.
"She's sometimes a bit panicky," added Orina.
"Besides," added Brandon, "If anything bothers her, her mother would cheer her up."
"So, are we gonna play, or not?" Complained Lana. "I'm getting bored!"
"Okay, let's play a game of 'hide and seek", said Danny.
So everyone were ready to play. Lana was the first to count.
"One, two, three, four, five..."
As she counted, the other went to hide.
"...nine, ten!" She finished. "Ready or not, here I come!"
Lana went to look for some of her new friends.
Meanwhile, Lana's parent went searching for her. Liliana was crying so much, she was having trouble breathing as she was crying.
"Don't worry, Liliana," comforted Leonard. "We'll find our daughter with no problems at all. Then they saw some of Lana's footprints, which followed to the bushes that she ran into. Behind the bushes was the waterfall.
"No... no..." whimpered Liliana, and sobbed a little. "I hope she's not..." She didn't want to say, so she kept silent.
CHAPTER 6: Bella, the Smart Beipiaosaurus
Back at the Prehistoric Valley, Lana and her friends were still playing "hide and seek". Just as she was looking for one of them, she spotted some feathers on one of the bushes.
"What beautiful feathers," she said, as she went closer to the feathers.
And as she picked one of them, they moved. Lana wanted to scream again, but she wouldn't dare in case her voice breaks. As she went closer, the feathers ducked down.
"Oh come on, Orina, don't be so silly!"
But it wasn't Orina, it was something else that Lana had never seen. The creature came out slowly from the bushes, and it was a Beipiaosaurus. (in The Land Before Time, it's called a "yellow-belly".) The Beipiaosaurus looked at her, and then it said:
"Well, hello!"
Lana didn't want to scream. The Beipiaosaurus picked her up and hugged her. Because there was only one thing to say...
"Help! Help! There's someone struggling me! Help! Help! Please!"
The other dinosaurs ran to Lana.
"What is it, Lana?" Exclaimed Danny.
Then they looked at the Beipiaosaurus.
"Uh, Bella?" Asked Orina.
The Beipiaosaurus stopped, and put Lana down.
"Sorry, It's just a habit I've had," said the Beipiaosaurus, who was completely embarrassed.
"I see you haven't met Bella yet," said Brandon. "But unlike the other Beipiaosauruses, she's doesn't have amnesia."
"What's amnesia?" Asked Lana
"Amnesia is a cause of a loss of memory," explained Bella. "For example, if you hit your head hard, you can't remember anything."
"You've got a good reason," said Lana.
"So, by the way," said Danny. "Do you have any parents."
Lana's heart sank, and sighed.
"I do," she said. "But I've lost them when they were almost ambushed by Clawback."
And Lana told her friends the whole story.
"Oh no," said Danny and Brandon in unison.
"Oh dear!" Said Orina.
"Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh," said Bella.
Lana felt even saddened than ever.
CHAPTER 7: A Family Feast (short chapter)
Since it was almost night, Danny and Brandon's parents were waiting for the kids.
"There they are," said Deanna, as she saw the kids.
Just then, Petrini, Patty's mother came flying towards Lana.
"Cool, a new arrival," said Petrini. "How lovely!"
Lana looked at the Pteranodon, and the Pteranodon looked back at her.
"Mama," said Patty "This is Lala, and she's-"
"My name is not 'Lala', it's 'Lana," corrected Lala. "And I am new here, if that's what she'll say."
Candi came towards the other, eating a pile of leaves on both of her hands.
"Sorry if I'm late," said Candi.
"No," said Deanna. "You're just in time. We're having a big feast."
Candi went red, and placed the leaves on the ground.
"Sorry."
"Don't worry," continued Deanna, "We'll have a big feast, and you can eat all you want, just leave some for the other adults, okay?"
Candi nodded her head, and everyone sat down and they all enjoyed their feast of leaves and berries. At the aftermath, everyone was stuffed, including Bella, who had her belly full with lots of berries, and she might have a difficult time to walk properly. And Patty and her mother, who couldn't fly properly due to their stuffed bellies. Lana didn't eat that much. She only ate a little, because she was missing her family.
CHAPTER 8: The Lambeosaurus Plan
Back at the Northern Valley, Lana's parents were still searching their daughter. Her mother was still crying ever since they began searching. Leonard was getting stressed. "Honey, please," he said. "We can't keep searching if you keep on crying like this."
"I can't help it," said Liliana. "I can't stop crying until we find our daughter."
"Can't you hold your crying for a while?" Recommended Leonard.
"I told you, I can't. So just deal with it!"
Leonard had finally had enough!
"Oh, so you want to cry all you want, huh? Well, cry all hy yourself, I'll look for Lana myself without you, you crying cresthead!"
And that was that. Leonard walked away, leaving a hurtful Liliana behind. Just then, she heard a huge roar. It was Clawback's sound.
"Leonard!" She yelled. She ran back to Leonard.
Leonard was still searching, when Liliana showed up.
"Well, look who's back," he said sarcastically.
"Leonard, let's run!" Exclaimed Liliana. "I heard a loud roar, and I think it was...!"
"I don't want to hear you!" Yelled Leonard. "Go away and cry all you..."
"LISTEN, LEONARD! Yelled Liliana, who had finally got fed up, "I'VE HEARD A LOUD ROAR! IT WAS CLAWBACK! HE'S COMING TO ATTACK US, BUT YOU DON'T EVEN CARE IF HE AMBUSHES US! IS THAT WHAT IT'LL HAPPEN TO US IF HE DID?!"
Her loud voice frightened Clawback as he was getting closer. He ran as fast as he can back to where he belong. In other words, he angrily ran away.
Leonard was surprised, but smiled.
"Liliana!" He said. "Your voice frightened Clawback, and now he's gone!"
Liliana sniffed and smiled.
"Oh well," she said proudly. "It was the only I've been saving ever since our daughter was born."
"Alright," said Leonard. "So, are you feeling better now?"
"I think so," said Liliana, who was wiping her tears.
So, they continued walking to search for Lana.
CHAPTER 9: Lana's Parents (short chapter)
That night, Lana, Candi, and Bella were the only ones staying out, while the rest were asleep after the feast.
"Bella?" Asked Lana. "Do you have any parents?"
"I used to have," began Bella, "but at Berry Valley, one of the herds were attack by a Allosaurus named Clawback."
"How'd you know?" Protested Lana.
"Cause I've heard that your parents were almost attacked by Clawback," continued Bella.
"Yeah," said Lana.
Then, Lana heard something in the bushes. Out came Lana's parents.
"Lana!" They called.
"Mom, Dad!" Called Lana Excitedly, as she ran towards her parents and gave them a hug.
"Who are they, Lana?" Asked Bella.
"These are my parents," announced Lana.
"Didn't you say that you don't have any parents?" Asked Bella again.
Lana cleared her throat.
"Uh, when did I say that?" Lana said, trying not to get in trouble.
Bella skeptically looked at her, but said nothing.
CHAPTER 10: The Reunion (final)
The next day, Lana introduced her family to everyone else.
"So, you must be Lana's parents, huh?" Asked Don.
"Why, yes we are," said Lana's mother. "I'm Liliana, and this is my husband, Leonard. Last night we had an argument, because Leonard didn't like my crying, and yelled at me and hurt my feelings, and..."
As she was talking, Lana talked to her friends.
"Guys, I guess this is goodbye," she said sadly.
"We'll miss you," said Orina.
"Bye, bye, Lana," sobbed Bella.
Lana was about to cry as well, but I didn't wanted to tell you, as if she wasn't interrupted.
"Lana, guess what?" Began Liliana. "I'd heard that our cave has been wrecked by Clawback, and then ran away to his home. So that means... We're going to live here, in the Prehistoric Valley!"
Everyone all cheered, including Lana's new friends.
"Hey, by the way," said Patty. "Since we're all friends, why we have a name for us?"
"Hmm..." pondered Lana. "How about... the Prehistoric Team."
"That's an awesome name," said Brandon.
"I agree," said Danny.
"Ooh, me too," said Bella.
"We agree too!" Said Patty and Orina in unison.
"I don't like that name," said Candi.
Everyone gasped.
"Got ya all!" Laughed Candi, making it a joke.
Everyone laughed too, except Lana, who just smiled, and hoot her crest.
